President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday expressed his desire to revisit the recent liquidation of the Nigerian Telecommunications Limited and its subsidiary, Mobile Telecommunications Limited. The President made his position known when officials of the Ministry of Communication Technology took their turn to brief him of their ministry’s activities at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Tunji Olaopa, disclosed this to State House correspondents after the closed-door session with the President. Olaopa said Buhari had directed that his ministry should prepare a memo for him on the transaction. He said although the President was not opposed to the privatisation, his desire was to ensure that Nigeria was not short-changed in the transaction. A 42-year-old housewife, Mrs Doris Oseni, has told a Customary Court in Ondo town that she caught her husband of 12 years, Prophet Femi Oseni, on the floor of the church office, having sex with another woman. The woman, who is also an Evangelist, therefore asked the court to dissolve her marriage on the ground of adultery, desertion and lack of love on the part of the husband . The petitioner said her husband’s behaviour towards her changed after seven years of their marriage with no child, adding that since then, the defendant had been sleeping around with different women, most of whom were members of his congregation. She added that after several days of abandoning her, she traced her husband to his church in a village not far from Ondo town. She claimed that on getting there, she met her husband on the floor of the church office with one of the women in the church having sex. Each of the 109 senators earn a bit higher, pocketing N19.66 million each a year, PREMIUM TIMES analysis shows. Additionally, each senator collects N1.01 million for his domestic staff, while each member of the House of Representatives collects N1million. Apart from this, each senator gets N202, 640 as Newspapers/Periodicals allowance. Based on the approved pay schedule, N1.4billion is spent on the lawmakers as furniture allowance annually, while their car loan stands at N2.34billion. A middle-aged woman, Soliat Adekojo, has asked a Grade ‘C’ Customary Court sitting in Mapo, Ibadan South-East Local Government Area of Oyo State to dissolve her five years marriage to her husband, Musibau over his excessive sexual desire. ON Sunday, August 2, it was reported that the office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia state was razed down by unknown elements. It does appear the new mantra of the ruling-Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is “If at first you don’t succeed, destroy all evidence and blame it on your opponent.’’ That members of the PDP would attribute the fire to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and its governorship candidate in the April general elections, Dr. Alex Otti, was the most irresponsible and ludicrous accusation I have ever heard.
