Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, said she's taking a break from acting to join politics for eight years. The actress cited lengthy stays in politics as reason for much of the problems in Nigeria, on top of corruption on the part of government officials. Though she also said she had no money to share, she states that she will not enter politics for the purpose of financial gain, instead she will "push" herself to better the country.

Vllagers living near Sambisa forest in Borno State have reported seeing a large number of Boko Haram militants leaving the wooded redoubt yesterday morning and moving towards southern Borno. Doctors in India have removed the skeleton of a foetus that had been inside a woman for 36 years in what is believed to be the world's longest ectopic pregnancy, a doctor has said. The 60-year-old woman became pregnant at 24 but had a miscarriage because the foetus had been growing outside of her uterus, the doctor told AFP. The woman, from a poor rural area of central India, was "terrified" of having surgery at the time to remove the remains of the foetus, and instead sought medication for the pain at a local clinic. Although the pain gradually subsided, it returned years later, forcing the woman to seek medical help in a city hospital. "She came to us complaining of pain in the abdomen," said Dr Akhtar, head of surgery at the NKP Salve Institute of Medical Sciences in the city of Nagpur. Air France has temporarily suspended all its flights to Sierra Leone due to the current Ebola outbreak in West Africa. In a statement released by management of Air France today August 27th, the French government recommended the national carrier to suspend all its flight to Sierra Leone. "Given the way the epidemic has evolved and the condition of the health systems.....the public authorities recommend to Air France that it temporarily suspend its services to Freetown" the statement read in part Meanwhile British Airways has also suspended all its flights to Liberia and Sierra Leone till 2015.  British Airways had earlier suspended its flights to the countries till September 2014 but reviewed the situation and decided to extend its flights suspension to 2015. Liberia has been worst hit since the Ebola outbreak in West Africa with 624 deaths recorded.

26 year old Kingsley Nwabueze (pictured above) has been arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Criminal Investigative Department for stealing and absconding with his boss's Infinity FX 35 SUV valued at N6.5 million, less than three months after he was employed. According to reports by Tribune, on April 10th this year, Kingsley drove his boss, Abosede Olubiyi, in her newly acquired Infinity FX 35 SUV to an appointment in Yaba, Lagos. When they got to their destination, the woman told Kingsley to find a place to park the car as there was no parking space in front of the building they were going to. The lady came down from the car and went for her appointment and that was the last time she saw Kingsley and her car. The matter was immediately reported to the Lagos State Police command. A 9-year-old girl learning to fire a submachine gun accidentally shot and killed her instructor at Last Stop gun range in White Hills, Arizona on Monday Aug. 25th. Authorities say when the girl pulled the trigger, the weapon recoiled over her shoulder and shot the instructor, 39 year old Charles Vacca, in the head. He later died in the hospital. The accidental shooting was captured on a cellphone. Continue to see the video... The Mohave County Sheriff's Office said the girl was with her parents. The website of Bullets and Burgers, the shooting range where the accident happened, says children between the ages of 8 and 17 can shoot a weapon if accompanied by a parent or guardian. Three policemen narrowly escaped death in Unguwar Kofar Dumi area of Bauchi metropolis when irate youths attacked them with sticks and stones for rescuing a suspected ritualist said to have charmed a 15-year-old girl. It was gathered that the suspected ritualist came to the area around 11: 30 am yesterday, lurking around where he allegedly touched the victim who was a passer-by causing her to collapse instantly. An eyewitness, Malam Bashiru, said when the suspect realised that the girl was unconscious, he attempted to flee but was grabbed by some youths who asked him to bring the girl back to normalcy or else they would kill him. Bashiru further explained that when the ritualist refused to do what they demanded, more youths trooped to the scene with sticks and other weapons with which they started beating him before the community elders intervened. Kayode, a pastor in charge of Jesus Is The Way Evangelistic Ministry, Olorunsogo, Abeokuta, was reportedly arrested by detectives attached to Kemta Division in his house, 3, Okeyidi Street, Abeokuta. The Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement said the pastor’s arrest was carried out when the victim narrated her ordeal to her father who then informed the police of the incident. The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspected burglars for allegedly breaking into a gold store in Ikeja, Lagos, and stealing pieces of gold valued over N23m. PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspects ─ Moses Obande, Ogbulaja Ogaba and Izuchukwu Ezeobi ─ allegedly burgled the gold store situated on Unity Road, Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way, Ikeja, Lagos, and escaped with the precious material. Our correspondent gathered that the three suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, led by SP Abba Kyari, after the owner of the store, identified simply as Mrs. Ekong, reported the matter to the former Commissioner of Police, AIG Umar Manko. The police stated that apart from the N23m gold, the suspects also made away with N108,000 from the store.
