Graphic: Armed robbers trail man, shoot him dead and cart away his money in Owerri

A yet to be identified man was shot dead by some dare devil armed robbers around Tetlow Road by School Road Junction, Owerri in Imo state today July 26th. According to an eyewitness, Obi Bright Chinweuba, the robbers seem to have trailed the deceased from a distance to the point where they shot him inside his Lexus RX 300 Jeep, dispossessed him of his cash and left him in the pool of his blood.

Caitlyn reacts to Trump banning transgenders from the US military

Caitlyn Jenner was a firm supporter of Donald Trump and constantly tweeted support for him during the US campaign. However, she might be regretting voting Trump at the moment. After Trump announced today that he will be banning transgenders from serving in the US military, Caitlyn took to Twitter to call him out for it. She wrote: "There are 15,000 patriotic transgender Americans in the US military fighting for all of us. What happened to your promise to fight for them?"

Yesterday Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha slammed former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode for condemning the new photo of President Buhari with some APC governors last Sunday. FFK alleged that the photo was an old one taken in Abuja during the Ramadan. Rochas replied FFK saying he is a spoilt child who only brandishes his Father's wealth. FFK released a statement yesterday blasting the governor and this evening he released another statement attacking Rochas. The statement is signed by FFK's media special adviser, Jude Ndukwe.  "Instead of respecting himself, shutting up and seeking for forgiveness from God for betraying his Igbo people, addressing his elders and betters in an inappropiate and insolent manner and playing the fool, the village idiot called Rochas Okorocha has once again fouled up the public space by opening his dirty mouth and talking about Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, the former Minister of Culture and Tourism and former Minister of Aviation.

The two chambers of the National Assembly today Passed the following bill. Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, (Fourth Alteration) Bill, No. 1, 2017 (Composition of Members of the Council of State) – This bill seeks to amend the Third Schedule to include former Presidents of the Senate and Speakers of the House of Representatives in the composition of the Council of State. 2. Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, (Fourth Alteration) Bill, No. 2, 2017 (Authorisation of Expenditure) –seeks to alter sections 82 and 122 of the Constitution to reduce the period within which the President or Governor of a state may authorise the withdrawal of monies from the consolidated revenue fund in the absence of an appropriation act from 6 months to 3 months. 3. US Alleges How Alison-Madueke Lavished $144m On Furniture, Artwork, Others

The United States of America has revealed how a former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke, allegedly squandered about $144m, using part of the funds to purchase a yacht, landed properties, furniture and artworks. According to the US, while she was in charge of the oil ministry, Diezani, lived a lavish and privileged lifestyle,” spending “more than one million dollars on furniture, artwork, and other furnishings purchased within the Southern District of Texas, and shipped, in part, to London and Abuja, Nigeria.” These were contained in a 91-page “verified complaint” filed by the US Government before the US District Court, Southern District of Texas, Houston Division, where it is seeking an order to forfeit funds and assets worth $144m linked to Diezani. The Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, PACAC, Prof. Itse Sagay, has described the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose as an irresponsible clown. He made the claim while reacting to Fayose’s recent threat to release damaging photographs of President Muhammadu Buhari to prove that he is critically ill in London. The National Chairman of United Progressives Party (UPP), Chekwas Okorie, has said that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) remains his political son but his quest for separate state of Biafra will not do the Igbo man any good. According to him, Kanu has not been exposed to the place and spread of Igbos in Nigeria which would have convinced him that secession was not the best option for the Igbo nation. Okorie also debunked allegations that there is a relationship between UPP and IPOB.
