One year after its launch into orbit, the US Air Force’s secret space drone continues to circle the Earth as the goal of its mission and its payload remain a mystery. The X-37B Orbital Test Vehicle, which resembles a small unmanned version of the space shuttle (one forth in size), was blasted into orbit from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on December 11, 2012.  Air Force officials have offered few details about the mission since its launch, saying that the space plane is merely a way to test new technologies in space, such as satellite sensors and other components. 

The sign language interpreter accused of  faking his way  through Nelson Mandela's memorial service has  defended his record , blaming the incident on a schizophrenic episode he suffered during Tuesday's event. The interpreter, Thamsanqa Jantjie, told Johannesburg's  Star  newspaper  today that he started hallucinating and hearing voices on stage, causing him to mime in ways that deaf viewers and sign language experts described as incomprehensible. "There was nothing I could do. I was alone in a very dangerous situation," Jantjie said. "I tried to control myself and not show the world what was going on. I am very sorry. It's the situation I found myself in."

A few weeks after a young Nigerian woman was  found dead  in her home in Columbus, Indiana, another Nigerian has been found dead in his home. 57 year old Benjamin Chibuogwu from Awka in Anambra state was found dead in his home in Lowell, Massachusetts on Saturday December 7th. The divorced father of five who lived alone in his apartment was discovered after his brother asked a friend residing close to Mr Chibuogwu to help check on him because he couldn't reach him on phone. The friend and Mr Chibuogwu's landlord forcefully gained entrance into his apartment where they found his body. Mr Chibuogwu had been dead for at least 3 days before he was found. Nobody knows how he died.

Incapable of intelligible speech, some of the children had oddly-formed features as the result of being born to parents who were themselves related. Brothers and sisters, uncles and aunts had sex with one another over four generations, raising childen in squalid conditions who themselves grew up to become intimate and have more inbred children.

A 6-year-old boy near Colorado Springs, Colorado, was suspended from school for kissing a girl on the hand. You read that correctly. "It was during class," first-grader Hunter Yelton said in an interview with CNN affiliate KRDO.   "We were doing reading group, and I leaned over and kissed her on the hand. That's what happened." Not only did Hunter's peck get him suspended from school, but the school accused him of sexual harassment, KRDO reported. Hunter's mom, Jennifer Saunders, is outraged. "This is taking it to an extreme that doesn't need to be met with a 6-year-old," Saunders told KRDO. Now my son's asking questions, 'What is sex, mommy?'"
