Fayose Slams Buhari-Arrest Boko Haram Not Dasuki

Image
Ayo Fayose, governor of Ekiti state, says dictatorship is returning to Nigeria with the sealing-off of the residences of Sambo Dasuki, a retired colonel and former national security adviser. He asked the president to put Boko Haram, and not Dasuki, under house arrest. In a statement issued on Friday on the two-day-old SSS siege to Dasuki’s residence in Abuja, Fayose said the persecution of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwarts and others perceived as opposed to the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government “is an ominous sign of imminent return of dictatorship and draconian rule in Nigeria”. Maintaining that he believed the “invasion” does not have the blessing of President Muhammadu Buhari, Fayose said it is being done “by some people to please the president” and asked the president to check the excesses of those behind it. “Democracy is already being put on trial, less than two months that President Muhammadu Buhari assumed office… Rather than invading home

Buhari narrates how youths almost overwhelmed his security detail, says only God can protect a leader

Image
While receiving a delegation of FCT Muslim community at the presidential villa this morning, Pres. Buhari narrated how his security detail was almost overwhelmed by some youths who were excited to see him as he left the Sallah prayer ground. According to him, the incident showed that policemen and soldiers cannot protect you, only God can. "Today, during and immediately after the prayers, I think I was bombarded by the youths who almost overwhelmed the security, and I had to hold tight to my gown to get to my car. I was advised to enter the car from the ADC side and I refused. I went across trying to wave my hand to the wild youths who wanted to see me. On an occasion like this, it shows that after what happened to President Ronald Reagan of the USA, it is only God Almighty that protects leaders because in a mob like this, anybody with a sharp knife can get access and do a lot of damage. So, all the policemen that were deployed and soldiers since  six o’ clock

Dasuki ‘refuses’ to surrender to SSS

Image
Sambo Dasuki, a retired colonel and former national security adviser (NSA), has refused to surrender to operatives of the State Security Service (SSS), also known as DSS, who are trying to “forcibly arrest” him, TheCable understands.  The operatives have been laying siege to his Asokoro residence in Abuja since 6pm on Thursday and are now inside his compound. Journalists are camped outside the gate as the stand-off continues. After forcibly gaining entrance into his compound, the operatives moved out all the vehicles and moved in with theirs in an operation led by an officer whose name was simply given as “Dodo” from Katsina, the home state of President Muhammadu Buhari.  The operatives had also on Thursday searched the Sokoto property of his father, Ibrahim Dasuki, the former sultan of Sokoto, and made away with documents. The operatives, TheCable understands, said they are looking for arms and counter-terrorism documents from the former NSA’s residence.

Comedian Alibaba Drums Up Support for D'banj's KOKO GARRI Values KOKO Holdings At $30Billion

Who owns Ciroc vodka? Who owns Beats headphones? Who own RocknRepublic? The list goes on. What we do in Nigeria is to laugh at people's hustle.  And when it starts paying, creating jobs and moving the person to the next level, we are quick to ask why is the person living so large? Does he know how many people are hustling and going to bed hungry? But we don't consider the person's hustle in the beginning worthy of support. I am a strong Supporter of Nigerian Brands.  How many politicians bought this Koko Garri to give their supporters? But they gave imported rice abi? When Otunba Ghadaffi started his mobile toilets, people called him "Agbe po!!!" It wasn't for long, others joined DMT to do what he was laughed at. I know that a few think what's DBanj thinking to invest in Garri.  Newsflash!!!! I bet you all that is a $30b market. I have told him to start promoting it in hotels and restaurants. Wherever beans and moi-moi is served, ther

Are you or anyone you know thinking of travelling by road to Europe? Please do not try it ! For every successful story out there ,there are hundreds of sad tales of people whose dreams ended disastrously. Refuge Network International, a humanitarian NGO recently paid a visit to two African migrant camps in Morocco, where we encountered hundreds of disillusioned suffering black migrants stranded in the north African nation on their way to Europe.Majority of the estimated 40,000 illegal immigrants in Morocco are blacks from Nigeria,Cameroon,Ghana and francophone countries. Many migrants live in forests, mountains and makeshift camps in conditions so bad that even animals might find it challenging surviving there. All that separates the inhabitants from the harsh unforgiving north African weather are small improvised huts made up of a combination of polyethylene material, cardboard paper, pieces of stones, sticks and damaged car tyres. Jonathan Sends Emeka Anyaoku To Plead With President Buhari Against Probing Him

Image
A panic-stricken former President Goodluck Jonathan has sent former Commonwealth Secretary General, Emeka Anyaoku, to plead with President Muhammadu Buhari not to launch an official probe of his administration. Several sources in Abuja, including aides of President Buhari, briefed SaharaReporters exclusively about former President Jonathan’s dispatch of Mr. Anyaoku as an emissary to his successor.  One of our sources said Mr. Jonathan moved quickly to send powerful intercessors to the Presidency after the Buhari administration began to question massive last-minute withdrawals and disappearance of more than $20 billion in government funds orchestrated by former President Jonathan as well as his closest ministers and aides.  One source familiar with Mr. Anyaoku’s desperate mission to President Buhari revealed that the former Commonwealth chief executive urged the new president to remember that Mr. Jonathan voluntarily decided not to contest the results of the March
