The suit was filed by a Senatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Wasiu Taiwo. Senator Taiwo, through his counsel, Ajibola Oloyede, sought an order of the court to stop the use of the Smart Card Readers on grounds that they were unconstitutional for election in Nigeria. SEE The Photo That Was Deleted by Instagram And The Poster Wrote A powerful Open Letter To Them

Image
Indian student Rupi Kaur, a Sikh poet studying at the University of Waterloo, Canada, posted an image which is a part of her photo-series project for a visual rhetoric course on Instagram. It was subsequently taken down by Instagram citing violation of the 'Community Guidelines'. That's the pic above. Looking at the photo, you will understand why it was taken down. The patch of menstrual blood on the sheets and the sweats were probably not to their taste. However, Rupi decided to re-post the photo and wrote a powerful open letter. Read that after the cut...  "Thank you @instagram for providing me with the exact response my work was created to critique. You deleted a photo of a woman who is fully covered and menstruating stating that it goes against community guidelines when your guidelines outline that it is nothing but acceptable. The girl is fully clothed. The photo is mine. It is not attacking a certain group. Nor is it spam. And because it does not bre

Photos: Woman beats teacher in front of her students for sleeping with her husband

Image
A woman savagely beat a teacher in front of her students after claiming that the teacher was having an affair with her husband. But instead of the students and other members of staff to stop the fight, they stood aside, watched the fight, filmed it and uploaded the clip on Youtube. Dang!! 35 year old Laelia Paredes Flores, stormed into the classroom in Huimanguillo in south-east Mexico, and attacked 32 year old Marcella Villalpando Tovar. Tovar was kicked, punched in her face and stomach and jumped on. And her students didn't do anything to stop it. In fact, another woman can be heard off camera encouraging the beat down. Wow! See the video below Student Miriam Gracia Adomo, 16, said: "The woman charged in and began shouting and screaming before punching our teacher to the floor. That’s when I ran to get help. But when other teachers came they just stood around watching. It was really terrible, terrible." After the act was widely condemned, a

Terrorists killed as troops recapture Gwoza, BH HQ + photos from the operation

Image
Statement from the Defence Headquarters below and photos from the operation after the cut.. Sequel to the violent and heinous crimes perpetrated by terrorists in North Eastern Nigeria, the Armed Forces of Nigeria was tasked to halt the carnage and restore sanity in that region. This resulted in the deployment of land and air forces. The deployment denied the terrorists the freedom of action they had hitherto enjoyed and they resorted to diversionary tactics known with terrorist groups around the world by carrying out isolated attacks and bombings.  The series of deployment and operational effectiveness of the military were however challenged by the porosity of the borders, which gave the terrorists leverage to operate in Nigeria and retreat into safe havens in neighbouring countries of Niger, Chad and Cameroon. The recent reinvigoration of a partnership between Nigeria and these neighbouring countries under the auspices of Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) pro
