Two teenagers fell to their deaths from a balcony yesterday as they cuddled at a party to mark the end of their exams.Anastasia Tutik, a 19-year-old Russian, and a Mexican known only as Miguel, 18, were in a clinch when they lost their balance.The drop of more than 60ft from the sixth floor killed them instantly According to Dailymail, they were celebrating at a luxury apartment block in Deptford, south-east London, with fellow students from Bellerbys College, an international school which charges fees of up to £21,000 a year.Witnesses described hearing a huge bang in the early hours. Nigerian Woman Sentenced To 25 Years In Jail In Cambodia For Drug Trafficking

A Cambodian Municipal Court yesterday June 11th sentenced 36 year old Nigerian woman, Collin Seniola Bosede to 25 years in prison for international drug trafficking after being found with 1.5kg of methamphetamine in her bag at the Phnom Penh International Airport in August 2013.  Bosede, who was travelling to Cambodia from Nigeria on  August 4th  made a stop at Qatar where according to her confessional statement, she met with a Canadian man named Amad who handed her a bag containing cassette players, the drug, clothes and a laptop and asked her to give it to an unidentified man in Cambodia. She was arrested as she landed at the Phnom Penh Airport.   During her trial on May 27th 2014, Bosede said she did not know the bag contained any drug as what she saw was only the laptop and the clothes in the bag. As the court read the verdict yesterday, she began crying. "It was very unjust. I was not the drug trafficker. Please release me. I want to go back home,” Bosede said.

Police Repel Boko Haram Attack In Kano

Brave police officers last night repelled suspected members of the Islamist terrorist group, Boko Haram, who tried to attack a police station in Sumaila town in Sumaila local government area of Kano State. A resident of the town told our reporter that suspected sect members besieged the police station and started firing, but the police officers on duty did not waste time in firing back, finally repelling the attackers. The source added that the insurgents fled the area when it dawned on them that the police were quite prepared to counter their offensive. The source added that many residents of the area had run out of the town to safety. "We hope that the police will be more vigilant from now because they (Boko Haram militants) often try to attack again with greater force whenever they are pushed back," the source told our correspondent. Boko Haram Leader Shekau Impregnates One of The Girls He Abducted

Don't get me wrong, it is not one of the chibok girls o, as we all know that Boko Haram have abducted some women in the past. A girl abducted months ago by the Boko Haram sect is back home and she is afraid that Abubakar Shekau might be the father of her baby. Meenah (real name withheld for security reasons) revealed this in an interview with IQ4News. The girl, who was abducted at the age of 17 after the insurgents killed her parents, managed to escape this year after having been held in captivity for almost 2 years and a half. Meenah said while in the camp, she could hear screams of girls molested by the sect members and see them being tortured for refusal to change their faith. The Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, has vowed to transform the historic Ogbunike Cave in Ogbunike town, Oyi Local Gov­ernment Area of the state to a first class tourist haven. 18 Soldiers In Trouble Over Alleged Mutiny

For their role in the alleged mutiny at 7 Division, Nigerian Army, Maiduguri, Borno State on May 14 this year, 18 soldiers have been arrested, sources claimed. This is even as gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, shot and killed 10 people including five soldiers, a family of four and an elderly man in two villages in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State yesterday. The soldiers who were arrested after an investigating team set up by the Defence Headquarters in Abuja, which looked into the immediate cause of the alleged mutiny at the Maimalari Cantonment, are currently in detention. They were arrested and disarmed after the team found them culpable of the of­fence and flown to Abuja. Sources said the soldiers who are still being interrogated, would soon appear before a General Court Martial to be set by the Army authorities in Abuja. But to several people in the Niger-Delta, especially the Ijaw community, his tribe, he is both a warrior and liberator. This is even as many people believe the former Ijaw Youth Council President and leader of the Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force (NDPVF), Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, is enigmatic. The son of a former judge in Rivers State judiciary, Asari appears unstoppable in the fight to liberate his people. He clocked the golden age of 5O on June 1, 2014. Man, 38, Arrested With Fresh Human Head In Lagos

LAGOS— Policemen attached to Orile division, Lagos have arrested a 38-year‑old man for allegedly being in possession of a fresh human head. The suspect, identified as Mustapha Bakare was arrested, Tuesday evening, around White Sands by a team of anti‑robbery policemen on patrol. Bakare was reportedly sighted with a polythene bag and was stopped for a search. Rather than comply, he reportedly took to his heels, holding firm to the polythene bag, an action that was said to have aroused suspicion. The policemen reportedly chased and apprehended him. When asked to disclose the contents of the bag, he hesitated. Confirming the arrest, spokesperson for the Lagos State Police Command, Ngozi Braide, said when the bag was eventually searched, a fresh human head was discovered. The reception team was led by the immediate-past Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, who assured that the former Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control would be given a burial befitting of her status and fame. Akunyili’s body was flown to Nigeria in a private aircraft from India. It was accompanied by her husband, Dr. Chike Akunyili; and her younger brother, Dr. Anayo Edemobi. Fashola Bows To Pressure, Slashes LASU Fees

The Lagos State Government has announced a reduction in the tuition of the state university. The government said it would reduce the fees by between 34 per cent and 60 per cent across the different faculties and courses. Students of the Lagos State University had staged many protests to air their grievances against the “high school fees” and had demanded its reduction. The government had set an ad hoc committee to review contributions on the issue from stakeholders, including the students. The committee submitted its report on Monday. The Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Chief Fatai Olukoga, on Wednesday at a briefing in Alausa, Ikeja, said after a deliberation on the recommendations of the committee, the government agreed to a downward review of the fees payable by students.
