A war of attrition has broken out between Jumia and Konga with both retailers now set for a showdown, Both are barely two years old in Nigeria, but the cold war brewing between the nation's foremost online retailers, Jumia and Konga, is threatening to hit the court room. Owned by Berlin-based Rocket Internet, Jumia Nigeria opened its e-commerce operations in 2012. It has since risen to become a major player in online retail shopping in Nigeria. The company says it now controls 70 per cent of the Nigerian online retail market and has dealt with close to a million customers since it began operations. The Chances are high that the First Lady, Patience Jonathan has been flown to Germany for another medical treatment. The report was gathered from two reliable sources in Abuja, who spoke with an online news medium, Sahara Reporters on the state of health of the First Lady. One source disclosed that President Jonathan's wife was secretly moved out of Abuja almost a week ago. "She was flown out about a week ago," a source at the Presidential Villa told our correspondent. He added that he was not aware of the First Lady's immediate ailment. Another disclosed that Mrs. Jonathan had kept a low profile several weeks before her removal to a German hospital. Singer Tiwa Savage is having it rough at the moment as she was arrested and whisked away after she engaged a policeman in a heated argument in front of Eko Hotel and even went as far as forcefully removing his cap from his head. The policeman was said to have stopped Tiwa Savage after she violated traffic law and she stepped out of her car and in the heat of the moment removed his cap and threw it away. 57-year-old Isaac Jemibola has petitioned a Customary court sitting in the Ikole area of the state to dissolve his marriage to 48-year-old Olayemi due to adultery on her part. According to Mr. Jemibola, his wife confessed to the illicit affair which took place in 2002 and further told him that the fourth child wasn't his but was instead fathered by her former boss. "She confessed to have had an extramarital affair with her former boss which resulted in the pregnancy of the fourth child. My wife said she had given her life to Christ and that her desire to make heaven made her confess based on the advice from her pastor. She added that the paternity of the fourth child was in doubt since both the boss and I slept with her the same week," he said. Mr. Dennis Amayo, a 64-year old husband and father, had two weeks ago written an open letter to Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole, threatening to kill himself on February 14th, a day dedicated to the celebration of love as espoused by Saint Valentine, if the state government fails to pay him his eight months pension arrears. Asked why he refused to kill himself on Friday as he had earlier threatened to do, Amayo, whose last duty post as a civil servant of Edo State Civil Service was as a Field Officer in the Edo State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources, said he has postponed the evil day by another two weeks. in Kwara Tragedy struck on Friday night in Oro in Kwara as a stray police bullet killed a 35-year-old politician during a party to celebrate St. Valentine's Day. The party held at the Topmost Hotel, Oro in Irepodun Local Government Area. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the APC stalwart, Mr Femi Oladipo, died instantly from the bullet wound. Oladipo was a former chairmanship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November, 2013 local government election in the state before defecting to APC. The death of Oladipo has triggered a protest in the town with some antiriot policemen and soldiers drafted to the scene on Saturday. A witness told NAN on condition of anonymity that a stray bullet from one of two policemen providing security at the hotel hit Oladipo's chest at 11:45p.m. He said that Oladipo was mediating in a minor disagreement among some youths when the incident occurred.
