48 Of 94 School Girls Missing In Yobe Return – Yobe Govt

F orty-Eight out of the missing ninety-four students from Government Girls Technical College, Dapchi have returned according to the Yobe state government. This was made known by the state commissioner of education, Mohammed Lamin, who disclosed that while 28 of the missing students returned on Tuesday night, 20 more returned on Wednesday morning. His words, “This has brought down the 94 missing students realised at the yesterday headcount to 48 this morning. “We are still hopeful that more are returning soon”, he finally said.

A bia state governor, Okezie Ikpeazu said during a BBC interview that missing IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu lies too much and is worse than a chameleon. Co-Convener of the advocacy group for the missing Chibok schoolgirls, Bring Back Our Girls Group BBOG, Oby Ezekwesili, has reacted to reports of the missing 94 girls from the Government Girls Science and Tecnical Secondary School in Dapchi, Yobe state after Boko Haram attacked the school on Monday February 19th. The sect members stormed the school in the night, shooting sporadically in the air. The teachers and students, over 700 of them in the boarding school, were said to have escaped before the sect members could get to them. However, when parents and teachers conducted a headcount yesterday, it was discovered that 94 of the girls were missing. While the state police command maintains there is no case of abduction, the school authorities and parents say 94 of their girls are missing. Reacting via her twitter handle, Ezekwesili who is a former Minister of Education, called on the Federal government to tell Nigerians the truth regarding the girls and the attack. See her

Miltary unaware of Yobe school girl’s abduction – Spokesman

T he military on Wednesday said it was unaware of the abduction of students of Government Girls Secondary School, Dipcha in Yobe State. It said it was waiting on the school authorities’ briefing on the situation even as it said troops had been moved into the town to secure it and go after the fleeing insurgents. Speaking on the telephone to The Punch on Wednesday, the spokesman of the military counter-insurgency operation in the North East (Operation Lafiya Dole), Col. Onyema Nwachukwu, said the military could not say for now if there was any abduction in the school as it was still waiting on the school authorities to make a roll call and check through the school register to ascertain if there was any student missing. T he Rev. Billy Graham, who transformed American religious life through his preaching and activism, becoming a counselor to presidents and the most widely heard Christian evangelist in history, has died. Spokesman Mark DeMoss says Graham, who long suffered from cancer, pneumonia and other ailments, died at his home in North Carolina on Wednesday morning. He was 99. Graham reached more than 200 million through his appearances and millions more through his pioneering use of television and radio. Unlike many traditional evangelists, he abandoned narrow fundamentalism to engage broader society.
