The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Ayo Oritsejafor, on Monday urged the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, to write a letter to Boko Haram to stop their attacks just as he did to the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria, ISIS. Mr. Oritsejafor made the call in Abuja at a 2-day roundtable with Senior Special Assistants on Religious Affairs from the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT. “His Eminence said he wrote a letter to ISIS, I have to truly congratulate you for that because that was a very good move,” Mr. Oritsejafor said. ‘‘I didn’t know about it until today and I am so glad it happened. A Federal High court sitting in Abuja has freed Aminu Oguche, the suspected mastermind of the Nyanya bomb blast which killed about 70 people in April. According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the court in it's ruling, dismissed the two counts terrorism charges brought against him and freed him based on lack of diligent prosecution by the state. Aminu escaped to Sudan after allegedly coordinating the attack. He was apprehend and repatriated to Nigeria in July. More photos of him in court today after the cut...

We thank God that the baby is still alive and she has fully recovered. The Ugandan baby who was viciously assaulted by a maid in a video that went viral last week has recovered from her injuries and is back in the loving arms of her parents. (pictured above) According to Ugandan NTV report, the house-help, 22year old Jolly Tumuhirwe faces up to 15 years in jail for attempted murder. The lady appeared at Nakawa Magistrates Court in Uganda on Nov. 20th after police concluded their investigations. The police say she was charged under the Anti-torture Act The court didn't grant her bail, so Jolly is currently remanded at Luzira prison in Uganda. The maid had only worked with the family for one month before she was filmed brutally assaulting the baby. And yes, the baby's father Erick Kimanzi, admitted to beating the maid after watching the video. Igbo leaders agitating for the actualisation of the state of Biafra have revealed their admission as mem­bers of the Economic, So­cial and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) General Assembly of the African Union (AU).
