The Senate has protested against the retention of Mr. Ibrahim Magu as the Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission despite the rejection of his nomination by the lawmakers. Several senators, at the plenary on Tuesday, spoke against the consideration of a letter from the Presidency requesting legislative approval for the nomination of 27 Nigerians as Resident Electoral Commissioners of the Independent National Electoral Commission. They insisted that the process be abandoned until Magu was removed. According to the lawmakers, the rejection of Magu’s nomination by the legislature meant that he could not remain the Acting Chairman of EFCC. A man believed to be dead was found by family members in a bar, guzzling bottles of beer as his burial rites was underway. The burial of Wilson Oluoch was to be held on Saturday, the 25th of March at his village in Awendu, Migori, Kenya, however, what was supposed to be a sad day was transformed into one of feasting after the family got a message saying someone who looked like the deceased was found in a bar and upon investigation it turned out to be true. Wilson Oluoch, a commercial motorcyclist, went missing and after he did not return days after, his family assumed the worst. When a decomposing body was found in a nearby sugarcane plantation, Oluoch's family took the body to be that of their son so they took it to the mortuary and began to make burial preparations. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has revealed how God made him  build a church during his incarceration at Yola Prison and later won the souls of several inmates including a notorious robber/murderer who later became a pastor with Baptist church. Speaking at the Shepherdhill Baptist Church in Lagos, last Sunday, during a Thanksgiving Service to mark his 80th birthday, Obasanjo called on Nigerians to work for God no matter the circumstances they find themselves. “One, God made me to build a church,” Mr. Obasanjo said. “It’s very unusual, I asked the authorities for land, they were reluctant, but eventually they gave me land and immediately we started getting donations.  “It was started before I left Yola. The Nigerian national who was assaulted in Greater Noida has said that no one helped them while they were being beaten up and claimed that he had no clue why he was assaulted. "We don’t know why we were assaulted, the mob hit us with rods, bricks and knives.  We asked people around for help, but not one called the police. Even our colleagues did not help,"  said the Nigerian national as quoted by ANI. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has assured thorough investigation and action over the incident.
