More trouble appears to be brewing for the disgraced former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, as a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the suspended governor to appear before it in a suit filed by some aggrieved shareholders of defunct Intercontinental Bank of Nigeria. Ruling on an ex parte application filed by Mr Chris Uche on behallf of one Abdullahi Sani and two others, Justice Abdulramat Mohammed ordered the service of the originating summons on any adult in the office of the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria on the notice board of the bank.   The plaintiffs, in their originating summons supported by seven a paragraph affidavit want the court to determine whether the suspended governor lamido sanusi did not act fraudulently by deliberately strangulating the banking operations of Intercontinental Bank to the detriment of the plaintiffs as shareholders.   They are therefore praying the court to declare the sale of Intercon

President Jonathan Never Confirmed Withholding Of $10 Billion From Federation Account

Image
STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE PRESIDENT JONATHAN NEVER CONFIRMED WITHHOLDING OF $10 BILLION FROM FEDERATION ACCOUNT Reports in some domestic media today which quoted President Goodluck Jonathan as "confirming" in Amsterdam that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) wrongly withheld $10 Billion from the federation account    are completely false and a total distortion of the President's comments during his meeting with the Nigerian community in the Netherlands. At no time during the well-attended reception did President Jonathan also confirm any "irregularities" in the NNPC. Sensational reports in the media to that effect are reckless, mischievous and unprofessional misrepresentations of the President's restatement to the Nigerian community of the Federal Government's position on the allegation that $20 Billion is "missing" from the NNPC or the Federation Account, by reporters who were not at the event or even in Holland at

Rochas Okorocha Set To Dump APC

Image
The romance between Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State and the mainstream opposition party, All Progressives Congress (APC), appears to have gone sour as indications have emerged that he may soon dump the party. New Telegraph authoritatively gathered that Okorocha was contemplating several options, including pitching his tent with the Peoples Progressive Alliance (PPA) or returning to the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) his former party.   He is also said to be considering joining the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the event that the first two options fail. It was learnt that Okorocha became disenchanted with APC following the poor acceptance of the party in Imo State and the South-East region.

Buhari Opens Up On Boko Haram: Connects It With The PDP

Image
Former Head of State, Mohammadu Buhari, has urged Nigerians not to look any further than the ruling PDP if they want answers to the formation, growth and sustenance of the Boko Haram menace. He stated this in his response to a claim by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh, that Buhari’s comments, prior to the 2011 elections, were proves of his involvement with the sect. In his reaction, Buahri said:  “The former National Security Adviser, Late Gen. Andrew Azazi, was unequivocal in his assertion that the power play in the PDP was the raison d’etre of the Boko Haram insurgency. Apparently, the discomfort caused within the PDP hierarchy was the reason for his sacking.  “Furthermore, we knew of the confessional statement to the State Security Service by one of the PDP stalwarts that the contact with Boko Haram was with the imprimatur of the Vice President Namadi Sambo.”

What Boko Haram Did to Us in their Camp ––Female abductees

Image
Two women abducted by Boko Haram insurgents in the North-East have given a rare account of what life was for them as captives in the camp of the dreaded sect. While one of the lady who was held captive for about 15 days, said she had a marriage proposal from one of the Boko Haram militants, the other said she was almost turned into a killer. “They were slitting people’s throats with knives. Both women and men were killed, especially the men who didn’t agree to fight for them. Those that tried to escape were shot but they hardly ever used their guns to kill. They usually used knives. About 50 people were killed right in front of me.”  “They asked me if I am Christian or Muslim. I said I am a Christian.”
