Terrorists belonging to the extreme Islamist group, Boko Haram, today bombed a bar and brothel located near a major military base in Mubi, Adamawa State. Preliminary reports disclosed that at least sixty people died in the attack at the location popularly known as "Kaban". Two security sources in the area told SaharaReporters that a horrendous explosion rocked the bar and brothel which usually teems with civilian and military patrons. The explosion happened close to 6 pm. , both sources said. One of our sources said none of the casualties was a soldier, but the other stated that it was too early to determine whether any of the dead were soldiers. The bombed facility is a short distance away from the headquarters of the Special Operations Battalion (SOB) of the Nigerian army in Mubi. 50 days after the seizure of the over 200 girls from Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, by Boko Haram, civil rights activist, Shehu Sani, yesterday, raised the alarm on the fate of the victims. 22 year old Nigerian man Uyobong Ukonne (pictured above) has been missing in New Jersey since last Sunday May 25th after drowning on a rafting trip with friends on the Delaware River, police say. Uyo, who had just graduated from New Jersey City University with a degree in chemistry, had been rafting down the river at 1pm with friends when he took off his life jacket and jumped into the water to swim. His friends say after he went into the river, he surfaced once, sank again and disappeared. His friends said he'd told them he wasn't a good swimmer before attempting to swim in the 20-foot, cold river (pictured right). Police say search & rescue began almost immediately but he wasn't found. Three brothers today confessed to attacking and killing young cousins, 15 year old Pushpa (pictured left) and 14 year old Murti (right), who were found hanging from a tree on Wednesday May 28th. (Read the story  here ) The crime provoked national outrage after it emerged that police in Katra village initially refused to investigate the girls' murder due to their low-caste status. Murti's dad has paid tribute to his daughter, saying she was a keen English student. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said President Goodluck Jonathan’s failure to immediately order the rescue of the over 200 schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram, spoilt the chances of rescuing them. The sect had abducted some female pupils of Government Girls’ Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State on April 14. The group later released a video where its leader, Abubakar Shekau, threatened to sell the girls. According to Obasanjo, the President did not believe the pupils were truly abducted until after 18 days. In an interview with Bloomberg TV, which was aired on Saturday, ex-president Obasanjo said, “On the kidnapping or abduction, the President did not believe that those girls were abducted for almost 18 days. Authorities of Christ Embassy International have denied reports of break-up between the Senior Pastor of the church, Chris Oyakhilome, and his wife, Anita.
