Distress Hits Heritage Bank, CBN In Cover-up Mode

Heritage Bank Plc is currently stuck in a debilitating liquidity situation; SaharaReporters has learned. Our sources disclosed on Monday that the bank is unable to meet customers’ immediate withdrawal requests and has wiped out all foreign currency domiciliary accounts through physical theft of cash by the bank's directors. First Bank Plc, which handles Heritage Bank's universal clearing activities, has threatened to blacklist the bank and stop further clearing transactions if its outstanding deficit of over N5billion is not cleared. Bird becomes an internet sensation in China because people think he has the same hairstyle as Donald Trump (Photos)

A golden pheasant in China has become an internet sensation because some Chinese people seem to see a striking resemblance between the bird’s hairstyle and that of Donald Trump. Pictures of the animal became widely shared on Chinese media today after a journalist from Hangzhou area of China, took a picture of the male bird and pointed out the 'striking similarity' between him and the US President-elect. The keeper of the bird, Mr Gao, who works for Hangzhou Safari Park in eastern China, where the five-year-old bird live, told MailOnline that he was surprised to hear the news, however he had begun to notice the resemblance between the two:  'I had not noticed the likeness in the past because I had not paid particular attention to the pheasant's hairstyle. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on today, November 14, 2016, continued the examination of its first prosecution witness, Alade Oluseye Sunday, on a case of alleged fraud against Abiodun Agbele, an aide to the Ekiti state governor, Ayodele Fayose, before Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja. According to a statement released by the agency, Alade, a manager and Branch Head of the Zenith Bank Plc., Akure, whose evidence started on Thursday, October 27, 2016, maintained that the sum of N1, 219,490,000 (one billion, two hundred and nineteen million, four hundred and ninety thousand naira) conveyed to the bank via two aircrafts were handed over to him by the first defendant (Agbele). Facebook apologizes after it gets slammed for removing photo of firefighter with severe burns

A Swedish firefighter Lasse Gustavson, who has lived with severe burns on his face for almost 35 years, has received an apology from Facebook after they deleted a photo he shared on the social networking site. Gustavson, who recently turned 60, shared a photo to celebrate his birthday & his friend,  Lindeblad reposted the photo, which was immediately taken down by Facebook's policy monitoring team. The picture was posted again and in minutes got 200 likes, Facebook took down the photo again and upon his third attempt to upload the photo, he explained his ordeal of how Facebook took down his photo, it was shared more than 30,000 times  in three days , an action he described to CNN as a form of "public protest." If you haven't heard the story yet, let us summarise. Oritsefemi went to Quilox nightclub on Friday night, got into a fight with one of the bouncers. He broke a wine bottle on the bouncer's head, cutting his face and other bouncers pounced on Oritsefemi, beating him to a stupor. The singer just shared a photo of himself in hospital, writing to his fans. He asked for fogiveness and admitted acting unruly. Photo: Police in Kenya arrest Nigerian man with over 860,000 fake US dollars

Kenya police raided a house in Kayole area, Nairobi on Friday, November 11th and arrested a Nigerian involved in printing fake US dollars. Over 860,000 fake US currency (pictured above) were recovered in the operation. The police conducted the raid after receiving credible intelligence that he was in possession of the fake dollars. The Nigerian was taken to custody as hunt for his accomplices continues. Police suspect more of the fake papers had been supplied to the market. Unit head Noah Katumo said such money is used for political campaigns in the country and affect the economy.
