SSS secures warrant of arrest for El-Rufai as APC, Fani-Kayode condemn harassment of former minister

The State Security Service, SSS, has finally secured a warrant of arrest for the Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Nasir El-Rufai, and has now launched a manhunt for him, the spokesperson for the agency has said. This is even as armed operatives of the Service again stormed a second house in Abuja believed to belong to the former minister in their desperate bid to arrest him. They had earlier in the afternoon invaded his first house in the Maitama District of the nation's capital, but could not find him as he had reportedly gone to pick his children from school. They were said to have tried to force their way in to arrest the former minister. In the latest siege on another property, also in the Maitama District, the operatives were said to have beaten up some private guards for refusing them entry. Kangaroo court orders Indian woman to be gang-raped for dating a man from another village

A Kangaroo court in a village in India ordered a 20year old woman (pictured above) to be gang-raped by 13 men for having a relationship with a man from another village, Times of India reports. The woman was locked in a shed and raped overnight by 13 men, 10 of which had been 'judges' in the kangaroo court which sentenced her in a village near Suri in west Bengal state, police said. The woman is currently fighting for her life in hospital while all 13 men have since been arrested for rape. Among them is the village headman. The rapists pictured above with police. The woman managed to tell her story to The Times of India. 'I had an affair with a man. We were dragged to a gathering where our community headman was present. A robbery suspect, Mr Godwin Olukporibe, has confessed that he was forced to form a robbery gang when his father-in-law asked him to pay N1.5 million bride price before he could marry his pregnant girlfriend according to PM News. The suspect was arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, of the Lagos State Police Command, following a tip-off that he was in a hotel with his girlfriend in Ibadan, Oyo State, western Nigeria. Olukporibe allegedly claimed his father-in-law initially refused to give his daughter's hand in marriage despite the fact that he had impregnated her and wanted to marry her. A popular Pastor who operates and resides in Oyo State, Pastor Adepoju who was a former pastor at The Apostolic Church, TAC, Oke Afata, has stabbed his pastor friend to death in his home. Adepoju left Ibadan for Osun State to meet with his friend, identified as Pastor Julius Olusoji Oguntoye in Osun State pretending to be there for a courtesy visit. SSS summons El-Rufai, warns against inciting statements

The  State Security Service   has  invited a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai,  to appear at its headquarters in Abuja on Friday (today) over a statement attributed to him in the Thursday edition of  a national daily newspaper (not The PUNCH). El-Rufai,  who is also the Deputy National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress,  was said to have been invited to clarify the statement  in which he allegedly said   that "the next election  are  likely to be violent and that  many people are likely going to die." He was also quoted as having said  that "the only alternative left to get power is to take it by force." His  Media Adviser, Muyiwa Adekeye, told   our correspondent through a text message on Thursday,   that El-Rufai   was  willing to meet the SSS   in his home or office or in the alternative, the agency should produce a warrant of arrest. Abuja—The first set of Made in Nigeria 4×4  SUVs will be rolled out by Nissan Motors in April this year. Chief Executive Officer of Nissan Motors, Carlos Ghosn, disclosed this to President Goodluck Jonathan on the sideline of ongoing World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Ghosn, who said the vehicles would be rolled out of the old Volkswagen Assembly plant in Lagos, noted it was possible to produce two to three million cars in Nigeria annually. According to him, this will lead to creation of thousands of direct and indirect jobs in the country. He also told President Jonathan that Nissan intended to increase its investment in Nigeria and establish its own production plant in the country. PROBLEM IN NIGERIA: APC Asks NASS To Block Budget, New Ministers

ABUJA — The  country was yesterday headed for a shutdown after the All Progressives Congress, APC, directed its members in the National Assembly, NASS, to block consideration of the 2014 Budget, as well as ministerial and military appointments until the Federal Government halts the escalating violence in Rivers State. The party also threatened to direct its members nationwide, especially in Rivers State to resort to self-help to protect themselves if the situation in the state was not immediately brought under control by the Presidency.
