People start thinking that we should be grading on a curve," he said.  "But I can tell you from the interactions I have had over the last eight or nine days with foreign leaders that this is serious business. You actually have to know what you are talking about and you actually have to have done your homework, When you speak, it should actually reflect thought-out policy you can impl

Image
Although this article was shared on Facebook page: Christ Embassy.Org Online Missions on September 4th and attributed to Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, it did not gain attention until someone related it to the Pastor's former marriage. Anyway, according to the founding president of Christ Embassy, a Husband does not mean the male partner in a marriage but rather master. They believe they are equal partners. If most women had their fathers bold enough to talk to them, they will be very successful in their marriage and they will be very happy people. Most women have never been taught by their parents,

Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun says contrary to opinions by some Nigerians, this administration is not confused as to how it intends to grow the economy. According to Adeosun, the times may be confusing but the administration is not confused. She said this while speaking with state House correspondents. "We are here because we were pumping the oil and using the money in recurrent expenditure. We were not investing. The NBS statistics are clearly showing that the level of investment has gone up so we are moving away from consumption to investment.  What does investment do? It is permanent. Why we won’t postpone Edo election despite Police, SSS’ warning — INEC

Image
The Independent National Electoral Commission has explained why it is brushing aside security advisory from the police and State Security Service, to continue with Saturday’s Edo governorship election. The commission said it would not be “teleguided” and “would not do anything that would mortgage Nigeria’s democracy”. It said the cost of demobilising, after reaching at least 97 per cent readiness level, would be immense. The police and the SSS had released a joint statement on Wednesday seeking postponement of the election for security concerns. “The Nigeria Police and Department of State Services wish to inform the general public that credible intelligence availed the agencies indicate plans by insurgent/extremist elements to attack vulnerable communities and soft targets with high population during the forthcoming Sallah celebrations between 12th and 13th September, 2016. Biafra: IPOB warns against dragging members into fake splinter groups

Image
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) wednesday expressed concern over the resort by its detractors to link its top officials with the fake factions in order to create impressions that the imaginary splinter groups like RIPOB and REIPOB really exist. IPOB pointed out in a statement signed by the Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, that the name dropping was part of the “spirited antics of the oppressor to attempt to deceive the world about an imaginary split in our great, divinely ordained movement to deliver our people from slavery.” Powerful, who said his name was even dragged into the phantom splinter groups stated that “my loyalty to the Mazi Nnamdi Kanu- led IPOB has never been in doubt,” insisting that dragging his name into the imaginary splinter groups would not serve any purpose for those behind the scam. “I do not know any Philip Effiong Osuji, he probably does not even exist. I remain completely loyal to the great mass movement of fre

Give Buhari more time- Former Abia state governor, Orji Uzor Kalu begs Nigerians

Image
Former Abia state governor, Orji Uzor Kalu, has appealed to Nigerians to give President Buhari more time to address our economic challenges. Kalu made the call when he hosted Catholic Bishops and the diplomatic community at his Abuja home yesterday. He said Nigeria was in recession in 2014 and was able to come out of it and that hopefully this administration will bring Nigeria out of this current economic recession. He noted that President Buhari had spent just one year out of his four year term in office. "I'm calling on Nigerian youths to be of good use to themselves. Let me be honest with you, I cannot judge Buhari. He has a four-year mandate to turn things around. He still has time and I expect that he will do something. Young people might be feeling frustrated. Government must not do everything. The only thing is that government is not paying enough attention to the manufacturing sector. If I am government, I will pay attention to manufacturing a

I Laughed When I Heard Basketmouth Got Me Fired - OAP Freeze

Image
Hopefully their beef which started with   indirect jabs on Instagram will end soon.   There is no love lost between OAP Freeze and Basketmouth the comedian, as virtually everybody knows that the two don’t see eye to eye. In a telephone chat with Saturday Beats recently over the latest news, Freeze said,  “Can Basketmouth get you fired from your job?” He claimed the issues he had with his former employees had nothing to do with Basketmouth. “When you work in a corporate organisation, it is not everything that goes on there that you can make a story out of. Legally, I am not allowed to comment on such a matter because I have a non-disclosure agreement with my organisation. I cannot even comment because I tried to sit down with lawyers to know what to say but they advised me to tell anyone who asked that I cannot comment but what I can say is that CoolFM is my family and that is where I have worked for over 15 years. “Sometimes we disagree and

Two factions of the Boko Haram sect in Monguno area of Borno State engaged in a bloody fight over leadership tussle, sources told the AFP on Thursday. The sect had split after the Islamic State group announced Abu Musab al-Barnawi, the son of Boko Haram’s founder Mohammed Yusuf, as the sect’s new leader to replace Abubakar Shekau. But Shekau had insisted he was still in charge of the Islamist group, whose insurgency had killed at least 20,000 people since 2009 and displaced about 2.6 million people. Sources say there have been deadly skirmishes between Boko Haram’s factions led by Abubakar Shekau and IS-backed Abu Musab al-Barnawi respectively.
