Wemimo is the daughter of late Chief Awolowo's daughter, Ambassador Tokunbo Awolowo-Dosunmu. This is the first picture of Sudanese woman Meriam Ibrahim, who was sentenced to death for apostasy, from inside the prison where she's being held. In this pic, Meriam carries her new born baby girl Maya, who was born this week in prison. Her legs were reportedly chained as she gave birth in prison. the 27 year old has been in prison for eight months now and is awaiting execution for doing nothing but marrying a Christian man. Right is Meriam's husband, Daniel Wani, with the new baby. Despite just given birth, it's being reported that Meriam will be given the 100 lashes that are part of her sentence in 2weeks' time unless she wins her appeal. Nigerian student Naizi Evah, (pictured above) a third year Computer Systems Engineering student of Vaal University of Technology, South Africa was found dead on Saturday May 2014 in her hostel room, this is according to her friends who are trying to get the media involved in the case.  One of her friends who reached out to me said prior to her death, Naizi had been in an abusive relationship with a Zimbabwean student, who also studies in same school with her, studying same course. The unidentified man was arrested by police in connection with Naizi's death but was bailed two days after police said they couldn't find any substantial evidence linking him to her death. Her friends say the boyfriend had been emotionally and physically abusive towards Naizi, beat her severally and even threatened to kill. A young man, named, Ibrahim Tilitili was said to have been paid the sum of two thousand Naira (N2,000), to burn down few houses at Mandara Girau village in Biu local government area of Borno state. Ibrahim, Chibok by tribe and resident of Mandara Girau village confessed that one Mallam Sani also a resident of the Village gave him the amount and instructed him to set some of the houses in the village on fire. According to residents of the village, Ibrahim had succeeded in setting ablaze three houses and scare the people of the village who started running for their lives to safe heaven before some brave young men pounce on him, when they realized, it was a lone attack. On realizing that, he was somebody they know in the village, they wanted to killed him, but some elders intervene and he was arrested and taken to Sarkin Baka- renown hunter in Biu town, where he made confession that, he was actually paid by Mallam Sani who is also resident of the village to set those houses ablaze

A pastor with Deeper life Bible Church and a former Brooklyn-based civil attorney Ifeanyichukwu Eric Abakporo, was yesterday May 28th sentenced to 6 years imprisonment by a US Federal High Court for defrauding banks, mortgage lenders, property owners, and property buyers in America. Prosecutors say Mr Abakporo and his accomplice, Latanya Pierce, carried out the illegal transactions for over nine years. They were convicted in a wide-ranging series of illegal transactions in New York city over a 9-year stretch, dating back to 2003. His accomplice, Latanya Pierce was sentenced to 30 months imprisonment. Pastor Abakporo was immediately handcuffed out of the courtroom with his wife and his 2 children present in the court room wailing as he was taken away. 

From all indications, all is not well in the home of the General Overseer of Christ Embassy church, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, who multiple sources say is experiencing some serious marital crisis with his wife. Trouble started when Pastor Chris relocated to Johannesburg in South Africa in January while his wife stayed back in the UK where she had lived for years. Some church members, who suspected something is wrong in their marriage and that they may be heading for divorce have started asking questions. Borno State Government, SSG, Ambassador Baba Ahmed Jidda, has faulted claim by the National Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Alhaji Adamu Ahmed Muazu, that both the Minister of State for education and the WAEC, had written to the governor not to allow exams go on in Chibok, but that the governor insisted. Speaking with journalists in Lagos yesterday, Jidda, who showed the reporters the purported letters from both the minister and WAEC, challenged Muazu to produce the letters which asked the state government not to conduct exams at Chibok. The SSG showed the reporters the letter the state government wrote to the Police, asking it to provide security on daily basis, to all exam centres, including the school in Chibok, based on the request made by WAEC. Two teenage girls, a 14 year old and her 15 year old cousin were gang-raped by five Indian men and then hanged them from a tree in a village in the northern stateo f  Uttar Pradesh, police said today. According to  Reuters , the two girls  who were from a low-caste Dalit community went missing from their village home when they went out to go to the toilet on Tuesday evening, May 27th. T he following morning, villagers found the bodies of the two teenagers hanging from a mango tree in a nearby orchard.  Indian police have arrested one man and are looking for four other suspects. The police said a post-mortem confirmed the two minors were raped and died from the hanging. I just wonder why our youths are still risking their lives in this dirty trade after all that is happening to those who have been caught in foreign countries. Could this be said to be poverty or just stupidity? 23 year old Precious Chineme Nwoko has been sentenced to 27 years imprisonment by a Cambodian Court for drug trafficking in Cambodia.  According to police testimony in the country's court, Chineme Nwoko is one of the ringleaders in a deadly heroin smuggling cartel inside Cambodia.  He was arrested for handing a backpack containing 2.2 kilos (4.8 pounds) of heroin to two women. The women are 41year old Australian, Yoshe Ann Taylor, and 19 year old French, Charlene Savarino. The deal was for them to move the drugs for onward transportation to an unidentified drug baron in Australia where they were expected to be paid handsomely for their service.  Sadly, both women were caught along with Nigeria's Chineme Nwoko. The result: 27 years imprisonment.
