The Governor of Akwa Ibom State Godswill Akpabio declared that the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan for another term in the office is the only solution to Nigeria’s search for peace. The pastor invited relatives of about 44 victims to Nigeria and many of them accepted to come. T.B Joshua reportedly put them in nice hotels, took them shopping and gave every family member N50k each. He also took the families to the site of the collapse building where they lost their loved ones. A former minister of Information, Labaran Maku, has finally secured the gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives G​rand ​A​lliance (APGA), and immediately accused his former colleagues from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of injustice, PremiumTimes reports. Maku joined the APGA after suffering a defeat from Yusuf Agabi, who scored 214 votes to emerge the winner of the PDP gubernatorial primary in Nasarawa State. He also tried to attempted to secure the gubernatorial ticket of the Labour Party, but was unsuccessful. The ex minister explained his attitude to his former party, the PDP, during his presentation as the APGA gubernatorial candidate in Nasarawa State capital, Lafia. A teen in Ohio says she was ambushed by six women who took turns brutally beating her on Christmas Eve — then spread photos and videos of the attack on social media to humiliate her. Cheyanne Willis, 19, says she was pulling into the parking lot of a suburban Cincinnati mall with her then boyfriend, Quincy Gardner, when he parked and pulled her out of the car. A group of six women, including two she knows, was waiting for her and allegedly took turns kicking and beating Willis, slamming her face on a car hood and shaving her head... AirAsia didn’t have permission to fly from Surabaya to Singapore on the Sunday morning that Flight 8501 crashed into the Java Sea, Indonesian officials said Saturday. Indonesia's transport ministry said the plane had been flying on an 'unauthorised schedule' when it crashed, and the airliner has now been suspended from flying the route from the city of Surabaya to Singapore. Transport Ministry spokesman J.A. Barata said the airline was only permitted to fly the route on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. “So AirAsia has committed a violation of the route that has been given to them,” Mr. Barata told The Wall Street Journal.

No fewer than three people died on New Year day along Adeoyo State Hospital Road, Ibadan, Oyo State. The three-member family was on Thursday night crushed to death by a Honda Pilot Jeep at about 8:30pm in what could be regarded as a New Year tragedy. According to  Leadership.
