Yunusa Dahiru, who is standing trial on five count charges of criminal abduction, sexual exploitation, illicit sex, and carnal knowledge of a minor, has been released on bail after six months in prison without fulfilling bail conditions. The case was adjourned till September 13. A Federal High Court sitting in Yenagua, the capital of Bayelsa state granted him bail but due to the stringent conditions laid down by the court, Yunusa could not meet the conditions until last Friday. Following reports of planned negotiations between the federal government and the Niger Delta Avengers, NDA, the leader of Niger Delta Peoples Volunteer Force, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari has broken his silence, warning against his inclusion in the negotiation team. He also warned against associating his name in the matter, stating categorically that he had not appointed anyone to be his representatives. Joshua Okugbeni A judge has praised a victim who stabbed a 'sex predator' in the neck with her keys after he pounced on her in the street. Church-going student Joshua Okugbeni, 21, ran off with his trousers still down after the brave woman punctured his skin. He had grabbed the woman from behind as she walked to work one morning - putting his hand over her mouth and dragging her towards a wall. Okugbeni asked the victim for a kiss and pulled his own trousers down- and his victim reacted in fear she was about to be raped. Despite his brother, Peter Okoye vowing to take legal action if his brother , Paul Okoye performed in Congo as Psquare, the latter is currently in Congo with singer, May Dand has already performed two of the shows in Goma. Peter issued a disclaimer disassociating himself from the show and calling out his senior brother, Jude Okoye for booking the show as P Square without his consent .He vowed to sue,noting Paul has no right to book shows and perform as PSquare but is free to perform with his own stage name ,Rudeboy.. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has told the immediate past Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu (retd.); a former Chief of Accounts and Budgeting in Nigerian Air Force, Air Vice Marshal Jacob Adigun; and a former Director of Finance and Budget, Air Commodore Olugbenga Gbadebo, to forfeit the 33 properties they allegedly bought with stolen funds. This, it was learnt, was part of the conditions for the plea bargain given to the three accused persons. An insider told Punch that apart from forfeiting the properties, Amosu, Adigun and Gbadebo would be asked to plead guilty, after which the EFCC would appeal to the court to temper justice with mercy. The accused persons alongside eight companies are being accused of stealing N22.8bn from the coffers of the NAF between 2014 and 2015. YUNUSA Dahiru, aka “Yellow” who is standing trial on a five count charge of criminal abduction, illicit sex, sexual exploitation and unlawful carnal knowledge of a minor, Miss Ese Oruru, weekend, finally left the custody of the Okaka prison in Yenagoa after spending over four months. It was gathered that Yunusa was immediately taken to Kano, where he hails from, in company with a team of his defence lawyers who usually fly into the state during court sittings. Lawyer to the accused, Mr Kayode Olaosebekan, who confirmed the release of Yunusa, said: “His people have taken him away.”  It was learnt that contrary to insinuations that no Bayelsa indigene would be willing to stand surety for the accused because of the ethnic and religious sentiments the case seemed to have elicited, the person who eventually fulfilled the court condition was from the state.
