MEND blasts Clark say he lacks moral authority to be championing for restructuring of the country

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta, on Sunday, slammed Ijaw National leader, Chief Edwin Clark for his position on the restructuring and ongoing militancy, saying that the elder statesman lacks the moral authority to be championing for restructuring of the country. MEND, also alleged that Chief Clark and other leaders of the region kept quiet during the 6-year administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan. In a statement by its spokesman, Jomo Gbomo, on Sunday, the group called on the federal government to ignore the resolution reached at Friday’s Niger Delta stakeholders consultative meeting held at the PTI Conference Centre Effurun, Delta State. The statement said among other things, that the leaders of the region failed to categorically condemn the criminal and treasonable activities of the Niger Delta Avengers (NDA) which has claimed responsibility for series of attacks on oil facilities in the region. The remains of former minister of Foreign Affairs, Ojo Maduekwe was laid to rest at his hometown in Asaga, Ohafia local government area of Abia on Saturday August 20th. Former First lady Patience Jonathan, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia state and his wife, Senator Godswill Akpabio, Senator Orji, Minister of Transport Rotimi Amaechi and others attended the funeral service which held at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria. 6 DELSU Lecturers Who Asked Students for S*x Sacked By School Management

About six lecturers of the Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka have been immediately sacked by the institution’s Governing Council for various offences ranging from extortion, sexual harassment, leaking of examination questions, to bribery and corruption.  The affected lecturers were sacked following recommendation by the Senior Staff Disciplinary Committee of the university who indicted the lecturers for the offences. The latest announcement was made through the school's bulletin issued by the management of the institution giving more details why the six of the lecturers were dismissed while four others were demoted and received various degrees of query for their conducts.  The bulletin which was signed by the university’s registrar, Mr D. A notorious suspected fake prophecy syndicate that specialized in working with some owners of religious ministry to confirm a certain prophecy in order to win more members for ministries and churches were on 19th August and 20th August 2016 nabbed at Holy Ghost park axis and popular P&T axis of the state by the operatives of the central police station of the Enugu state police command of the Nigeria police Force. Sad news! Cancer patient Mayowa Ahmed has passed on

Cancer patient Mayowa Ahmed has died. She died this afternoon August 21st in a hospital in South Africa after battling Ovarian cancer for a while. She was flown to South Africa on August 11th for treatment after kind-hearted Nigerians raised over N100million for her treatment. Unfortunately, she didn't make it. So sad! May her soul rest in peace, amen.

Female Corper Battered by Her Colleague, Seeking for Justice

So about two weeks ago, a female corps member Temitope Adedewe, was battered and her two teeth removed with a hammer by a male corps member? What could have led to such craze? Two weeks later the National Youth Service Corps headquarters Abuja is yet to officially react. Also her NYSC discharge certificate, which was withheld for purportedly breaching the NYSC code of conduct and reporting the matter to the police in Arochukwu, Abia State, where the incident happened, is yet to be issued to her.  The Nation reports that there is strong allegation that her assailant, Oluwabusiyi Adeola Bolarinde is already studying for his Master’s at the University of Ibadan, which could not have been possible if he didn’t produce his NYSC discharge certificate. Female Kidnapper Who Abducts and Sells People's Children Caught In The Act

This 32-year-old woman named Chidinma Favour Okorie, a mother of five, who is pregnant has been arrested by the police for stealing two three-year-old kids in Anambra state. The suspect is alleged to have committed the felonious act in Idoma village, Umuoji in Idemili North area of the state. Chidinma is a native of Amasiri, Afikpo, Ebonyi State, where she lived with her husband until she fell into the cold embrace of the police in Anambra State, as she was caught in the act following an alarm raised by the mother of another child she attempted to steal. The news was disclosed to The Sun by the new Commissioner of Police, Sam Okaula, who also said the suspect was part of a syndicate and had allegedly stolen several babies in Anambra until nemesis caught up with her during her last operation. Multi-Billion Loans: Banks to sell over 1,000 debtors’ properties

Deposit Money Banks have put up for sale over 1,000 properties belonging to several customers, who were unable to service their loans, according to Punch's investigations. This came about eight months after the amount of bad loans in the banking industry rose sharply by 78.8 percent to N649.63bn at the end of 2015. Impeccable sources revealed that most of the 19 commercial banks in the country had engaged the services of estate surveyors, prominent realtors and lawyers to help them to sell off the properties. The move, according to the sources, was part of efforts by some banks to recover bad loans and shore up their capital base in the face of current economic crisis. The properties had been used as collateral in obtaining loans by the banks’ customers. Oyo state police command have arrested 43 year old Yisua Adeleke(left) for bathing his lover, Mrs Morufa Ajoke Odesanya (right) with acid after he found out she was married and not a widow as she claimed previously. According to Tribune, on November 25th, Yisua invited Morufa who is 36 years old with five children, to their love nest and then poured the corrosive substance on her. He went into hiding for months until he was arrested on August 7th this year. Three suspected militants have been arrest by the Police in Akwa Ibom State with high-power bombs capable of sinking any ship, boat, or destroying buildings or pipelines. The State Commissioner of Police, Murtala Mani, who paraded them on Friday at the state Police Headquarters, Ikot Akpan-abia, said the suspects were arrested on August 18, 2016, through an intelligence report. Mani who briefed newsmen on the development through the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, Cordelia Nwawe, said the suspects were arrested at Moden City Hotel in Eket local government area of the state. The State Police boss gave the names of the suspected militants as Nelson Seimiyefa, aged 34, from Bayelsa state, Victor Emmanuel Williams, aged 34, from Etinan local government area of Akwa Ibom and Nseobong Dickson, aged 38, from Eket local government area also of Akwa Ibom State. Boko Haram members attacked a village in Damboa local government in Borno state Saturday, killing six persons and abducting 13 other people. A member of the youth vigilance group, Civilian JTF, said  the incident took place at about 5am Saturday morning. He said: “The hoodlums were in Kuburubu village today (Saturday), riding four motorbikes, they were eight in number and armed with guns. “They attacked the village at about 5 am when everyone was still sleeping. They killed six persons and abducted about 13 others which they led into the bush.” He said the abducted people were seven women, five teenage boys, and a teenage girl.
