SEE Photos Of Victims Of Yola Bomb Blast That Occurred This evening

A bomb explosion occurred in front of the Jimeta main market in Yola Adamawa state at about 7:45pm today June 4th. Eyewitnesses say the residents of the area had just finished observing their evening prayers at a nearby praying ground when the bomb detonated. It is believed the explosion was carried out by a male suicide bomber. Unconfirmed reports say as much as ten persons have been certified dead from the blast. Some survivors pictured above. #BREAKING Suicide bomber attacks military checkpoint in Maiduguri, kills at least four soldiers

Soldiers at a checkpoint near a military barracks have been killed by a suspected Boko Haram suicide bomber who detonated a vehicle laden with explosives as he was being frisked by the personnel, security sources and witnesses said Thursday. The attack came more than a hour after another suspected suicide bomb attack occurred in neighbouring Adamawa State. Both attacks came barely 24 hours after a bomb planted by unknown persons at a crowded commercial area in Maiduguri exploded and killed innocent civilians. The scene of the Maiduguri blast, Thursday, was about 2km away from the location of Wednesday’s attack. Witnesses said some soldiers were killed. PREMIUM TIMES could not establish the kind of vehicle said to be used by the suicide bomber as sources gave conflicting accounts. How robbers struck at First Bank, Wema at Ikorodu

The heavily armed gang of robbers which attacked two commercial banks at Ikorodu, last Tuesday also overran the Area N Police Command Headquarters and its Police Division, Ijede-Ikorodu area of Lagos State, Vanguard has gathered. Sources disclosed that robbers who were armed with Ak-47 rifles and were clad in military camouflage, were said to have attacked the police formations at the same time they struck at the banks. This is coming as the officer in charge of the Special-Anti Robbery Squad, SARS, Ikeja, Sp Abba Kyari, has been redeployed by the Inspector General of Police to Abuja, following petitions sponsored by an NGO allegedly funded by relatives of kidnap and armed robbery suspects currently being held at SARS custody across the country. An explosion has reportedly hit a major market in Yola, the capital of Adamawa state on Thursday evening. As at the time of filing this report, The Nation was unable to contact the Police concerning the cause of the blast, it was however suspected to be an activity of suicide bombers. Eye witness, who recounted that the incidence occurred at about 7:00pm at the  Jimeta main market, noted that it could be difficult to measure casualty figure but the impact may be much.

Fayose tells outgoing lawmakers that he has forgiven them

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, on Thursday bade farewell to the outgoing members of the House of Assembly, insisting that he had forgiven them for attempting to remove him from office. Fayose said this in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Idowu Adelusi, even as the Assembly’s tenure will expire on Friday. Ekiti State had been under siege for the past three days as thugs said to be loyal to Fayose blocked all roads leading to the Assembly complex to prevent the 19 All Progressives Congress lawmakers from sitting with the aim of impeaching him. Fayose lamented how things ended between him and the lawmakers but promised that they would not be victimised after leaving office. A bricklayer and choirmaster, Adewale Babalola, who allegedly had unlawful carnal knowledge of a 16-year-old chorister in his church, was on Thursday brought before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos. The accused, 36, who lives at No. 11, Maxwell Ijeh St., Aguda in Surulere area of Lagos, is facing a charge of unlawful sexual intercourse. According to the prosecutor, ASP Godwin Anyanwu, the accused committed the offence on Dec. 2, 2014 at his apartment.
