Boko Haram is a fraud - Buhari

Image
A statement from Gen Buhari signed by his media aide, Shehu Garba. "The fraud called Boko Haram can be defeated by denying it a recruitment base," General Buhari told visiting leaders of Nassarawa State who came to congratulate him on his emergence as President-elect. No religion allows for the killing of children in school dormitory, in markets and places of worship. They have nothing to do with religion. They are terrorists and we are going to deal with them as they deal with terrorists anywhere," he announced. Buhari said he is greatly pained by the destruction of schools in the North-eastern part of the country, an action he said could deny thousands of youngsters access to education and a better future unless something was done urgently to avert this tragedy. "The worst thing anybody can do is to deny children access to education. That will be destructive to their lives and we are not going to allow that to happen," the President-...

Approval was given for 70 transformers but he diverted same to his house in Eket on the pretext that there was no space to accommodate the newly issued 70 units of transformers at the NDDC office in Uyo. He thereafter sent only 14 Units to NDDC office in Uyo while he withheld 56 units which he could not account for till date. DOWNLOAD: Full Report of PWC Forensic Audit on Missing $20billion Oil Money

Image
President Goodluck Jonathan has ordered the immediate release of the full audit report of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, accused of diverting $20 billion oil money. The president gave the directive Monday, a day after the president-elect Muhammadu Buhari, pledged to launch an investigation into the claim made by a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Lamido Sanusi. The government immediately released the report following the president’s directive. The presidency criticised the All Progressives Congress, APC, for accusing Mr. Jonathan of indulging in last minute illegal acts ahead of handover of power on May 29. “President Jonathan is also deeply concerned by the continuing suggestions that his administration still has anything to hide about the unproven allegation that about $20 Billion is unaccounted for by the NNPC during his tenure,” said a statement by presidential spokesperson, Reuben Abati. “To lay the matter to rest, Presiden...

Pres. Jonathan orders immediate release of report of forensic audit of NNPC accounts

Image
State House press statement... We have noted with concern, the allegation by the spokesman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Lai Mohammed that officials of the Federal Government are engaged in “last minute looting of the nation’s resources, rushed privatization of key institutions and hurried recruitment into the public service”. We also consider as most unfortunate and uncharitable, the suggestion by Alhaji Mohammed that the Jonathan Administration is trying to “tie the hands” of the incoming government merely by continuing to discharge its constitutional responsibilities until the end of its tenure. The Jonathan Administration which continues to do its best to ensure a smooth and peaceful handover over of power to the President-Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, deeply regrets the unfairness and combative frame of mind reflected in Alhaji Mohammed’s statement.   President Jonathan has done his best in the past five years to discharge his constituti...

Bruce Jenner's first wife speaks on his transition, says he told her in the 70s

Image
Chrystie Scott  was married to Bruce Jenner for nine years. From 1972 to 1981 and is the mother of his two oldest children, Burt and Casey Jenner, and she was the first person he ever confided in about his gender identity. Speaking about his Diane Sawyer interview, Chrystie told George Stephanopoulos on his radio show this morning about her shock when Bruce first told her in the first year of their marriage in the 70's.   "I can't remember the exact words because it was such a shock to me, but he opened up his heart and confessed, and he had to share this deep, dark secret. He told me he wanted to be a woman, and understandably, I didn't know what to say. It's so hard to wrap your head around it, particularly because he was such a manly man. He never indicated anything feminine in his demeanor." Speaking about Jenner finally talking about it, Chrystie said; "I'm sure there are plenty of people that don't have the cou...

Obasanjo & Buhari will eventually fight, Buhari will be a formidable opponent - Babatope

Image
In an interview with  Punch , PDP chieftain, Ebenezer Babatope said former president Obasanjo and incoming president Buhari will eventually fight but Buhari will prove to be a formidable opponent. When asked what he foresaw of Buhari and Obasanjo's relationship, Babatope replied;  Many of them who are jumping up and down now will know better when Buhari must have finished dealing with them. Buhari is a Fulani man from Daura. The northern agenda to get rid of southern leadership started in the 2011 elections. Obasanjo had his reasons. He supported Jonathan to succeed Yar’Adua and he was the same person that said Jonathan should go. As an individual, he has his rights. I am told he has been given three ministerial slots. It could be more than that, so let him go ahead but it does not stop Obasanjo tomorrow to take his biro to wipe Buhari clean and clear but the difference is that when he is fighting Buhari, he will be fighting a different kind of opponent. Buhari is...

Social media will keep Buhari on his toes – Omojuwa

Image
As the May 29 official handover date by President Goodluck Jonathan draws closer, many sectors of the country continue to draw agenda for the incoming administration of Muhammadu Buhari. Japheth Omojuwa, socio-economic and political commentator, in this interview with MABEL DIMMA, weighs in on a number of issues that should be urgently addressed. Excerpts: Every sector of the economy as well as professional bodies is making demands on the in-coming Buhari administration. What is your take on this, knowing that he cannot please everybody in four years? General Buhari must focus on what he wants to achieve in four years and he must go for it with all the vigor necessary to get things done. Power, infrastructure, education, security and the rule of law must take precedence. He cannot afford to look to please everyone but if he gets certain things right, he’d please every rational unbiased Nigerian. For instance, power and infrastructure must be made a priority. Reforms...

US Daily Beast comes for Tinubu in new article, calls him 'Heroin Kingpin'

Image
US  Daily Beast  profiled APC leader Bola Tinubu in an article titled 'Nigeria's Next Leader's Ties to a Heroin Ring' where they described Tinubu as a 'heroin kingpin'. Tinubu will not like this. Read below General Muhammed Buhari’s political partner is a former bagman for two heroin traffickers. But that’s just business as usual in Nigeria. Nigeria’s election last month was celebrated as an unlikely victory for democracy in an African country with a tenuous record of free and fair representation. But the man most responsible for midwifing General Muhammed Buhari’s ballot triumph over current President Jonathan has a spotty CV. Former Lagos provincial governor Bola Tinubu, affectionately nicknamed the Jagaban, is today seen as a shrewd if not “deeply Machiavellian” Svengali in Nigeria’s politics as well as the architect of a hugely successful anti-corruption platform. But 20 years ago he had to forfeit nearly half a million dollars to the U.S. T...

Khloe Kardashian & Lamar not ready for divorce

Image
Khloe Kardashian has been subtly showing off her Lamar Odom tattoo, fueling reconciliation rumors. However,TMZ claims though they are not thinking of a reconciliation ,they are not ready to get divorced either  The 2 of them are not romantic and are not talking reconciliation, but they don't want to close the door on the marriage either. That explains why Khloe's divorce has been laying dormant in the courts for more than a year ... the judge has even said if she doesn't s*** or get off the pot, he'll dismiss it.  Our Lamar sources says there's bad blood on both sides. It's not as if he's begging her to reconcile ... he feels betrayed by Khloe as well. The Lamar sources say she's told him he has to make some sort of "grand gesture" before they can go the next step, and so far he's not willing to do it.  For her part, we're told she has "a big heart" and doesn't want to hurt him by sealing the d...

Why I apologised to Ekiti People-Fayose

Image
Ekiti governor, Ayodele Fayose has explained why he begged for forgiveness from the people of the state, especially the 19 aggrieved All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers..Speaking through one of his media aides, Mr. Lere Olayinka,he told Encomuim “Governor Fayose is the number one person in Ekiti as of today. He is a leader per excellence. He must not see himself trading words with any individual or group.   “Although, his statement is political, it’s just to ensure there is peace in the land. But let me tell you, the case of the 19 lawmakers is zero. Omirin himself couldn’t come to Ekiti to vote during the election. He was in Idanre throughout the period. Why must he run from the people he claims he loves?   “They are all afraid because they are not only fighting Fayose, they are fighting the people of Ekiti State. They are fighting the artisans, students, workers, National Union of Road Transport Workers and others. And how can you be fighting...

Igbo and the fallacy of Mbaka’s God’s vindication

Image
The 1967-70 Nigeria Civil War, for the Igbo was a battle of historic survival against the forces of national darkness that roamed in the form of periodic unrestrained anti-Igbo riots and massacres, and subsequently the chilling pogrom of 1969. It was not only a battle for survival but for the upholding of the Igbo man’s dignity, which, as previously feared got swallowed up by the events of the civil war. Those who supported Biafra did so not because of the capability of the Igbo to win the war against the World Powers-supported Federal might but for the case of conscience. The likes of Presidents Houphouet-Boigny of Cote d’Voire, Julius Nyerere of Tanzania, Kenneth Kaunda of Zambia, Omar Bongo of Gabon, Papa Doc of Haiti and to some extent Siaka Stevens of Sierra Leone, Jomo Kenyata of Kenya, William Tolbert of Liberia, and the French Government of the time did so out of conscience against the forces of darkness that ruled Nigeria at that time. This explains why...
