Pastor T.B. Joshua failed today to appear at a coroner's inquest, intended to determine how 116 people were killed in a September 12 building collapse at his Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos. The pastor was called to present evidence that supported his claim that the church was attacked by terrorists flying over the building, something experts have ruled out. The pastor was also facing allegations that members of his church thwarted emergency rescue operations the day of the tragedy. “The first three days (after the collapse) were marred by the so-called church sympathizers and the crowd,” said the head of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, during the inquest. “By the time we attained momentum after 96 hours a lot of things had gone bad.” “The crowd impeded our operation. The Nigerian government is getting set to extradite Jeffrey Azuka Okafor (middle), who is wanted by the UK police for the murder of Carl Beatson Asiedu, who was stabbed to death on August 1st 2009 outside a UK nightclub (read  here ). The 23 year old fled to Nigeria after the murder but was arrested on September 23rd 2014 in Asaba, Delta state after a diligent search by the Nigerian police. The Inspector General of Police , IGP Suleiman Abba, while commending Police Intelligence Operatives for the arrest, said all the  necessary required procedures to enable the handover of the fugitive to the UK Authorities have already been concluded.  The IGP further assures the International law enforcement communities that the Nigeria Police Force will always ensure that all fugitives that show up in Nigeria would be apprehended upon request and turned over accordingly.

48 year old Alhaji Mahmud Abdulakeen Tanko (pictured left) has been arrested and paraded by the Lagos state Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, for selling cars he buys from a gang of armed robbers who specialize in snatching cars in Abuja. (right are some of the recovered cars) According to police, Tanko was arrested in Abuja after a member of the robbery gang that supplies him with stolen cars was arrested in Rivers state and confessed. Tanko was paraded alongside four others identified as  Musa Yusuf, 27, Israel Nana, 30, Moses Andrel, 25 and Abayomi Adebayo, 53.  According to  PM News , wh en interrogated, Tanko said he was aware the young men supplied him with stolen cars but buys them because they are cheap and helped him to maximize his profit. The police in Philadelphia yesterday released CCTV footage showing the terrifying moment a woman was grabbed and dragged into a car as she was walking on the road in Penn Knox on Sunday Nov. 2nd. The woman, identified as 22 year old nurse Carlesha Freeland-Gaither, was walking home alone around 9.40pm after attending her godson's birthday party on Sunday night when an unknown man grabbed her from behind. Carlesha screamed and fought the man for a few minutes, even kicking the glass out of two of the car’s windows before the unidentified man managed to overpower her and bungle her into his car. She has not been seen since then. Speaking to CBS News, Philadelphia police spokesman, John Stanford, described the man as black, 5ft10 and aged between 25 and 30. The police say they believe the kidnapper is unknown to the woman who lives with her boyfriend and was just 3 blocks from her home when she was kidnapped.
