Ekiti lawmakers occupy highway to protest ‘harassment’ of Fayose
Members of the Ekiti state house of assembly on Wednesday took over a highway in the state capital to protest against the “harassment” of Ayodele Fayose, governor of the state, by the federal government.
The lawmakers, who held their plenary session on the Okesa highway in Ado Ekiti, condemned the freezing of the accounts of the governor.
Reacting to the development on Wednesday, the lawmakers asked the government to let the governor be.
“The freezing of his account without following due process is a high level of intimidation and we condemn it.”
Fayose has since filed a suit at a federal high court in the state to challenge the action of the EFCC.
