Suspects Say Human Flesh Is 'Tastier' Than Animals
The police in Niger have arrest 3 members of a cult group said to specialize in roasting and eating human beings.
The suspects, identified simply as Fatima, Tetengi and Aminatu, were accused of the murder of a young boy.
The victim, 9-year-old Umar, was reportedly handed over by his father, Mohammed, to Fatima to watch the child until his return.
However, on the father’s departure, Fatima allegedly handed Umar over to Tetengi supposedly to slaughter and roast him. The flesh was then shared by the 3 suspects.
The suspects have allegedly confessed to the crime with one of them supposedly telling the police during interrogation that “human flesh was tastier than those of animals.”
The incident has been confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, DSP Ibrahim Abiodun Gambari.
He said:
“…the three suspects confessed to the crime upon interrogation and were charged to court on first information report for the offence of criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, cannibalism and killing of an innocent citizen, an offence punishable under the law.”
