Speaking recently on the spate of bombings and attacks in the country, GO of the Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo said that Nigeria is on the verge of a break up.  "I hope that we are willing to find solution to it. I would be the last person in this world to believe that government has not discovered those who are behind Boko Haram. Otherwise, we don’t have any intelligence service in our country. Are they sacred cows that cannot be brought to book? Until we cut the source of their supplies and get those who are involved, we cannot stop them. Yesterday the Lagos State Ministry of Health said a Liberian man is being tested for the deadly Ebola virus in Lagos (read  H ERE ). The man, Patrick Sawyer, (pictured above) has reportedly died. According to reports, Patrick died yesterday night at the First Consultant Medical Centre, Obalende, Lagos where he'd been receiving treatment. His condition was said to have worsened. Sawyer, who was an official of the Liberian Ministry of Finance, arrived in Nigeria on Sunday July 20th for a conference.

A 56-year-old man is suing a hospital after claiming a doctors mistakenly amputated his penis during a routine circumcision. Johnny Lee Banks Jr, of Birmingham, Alabama, filed a suit on Tuesday suing the Princeton Baptist Medical Centre for medical malpractice, the Associated Press reports.  The suit, which is seeking an unspecified amount of compensation, also claims his wife Zelda is also suffering, following the procedure in June. It names the hospital, a urology group, a medical clinic and two doctors as defendants. “When the plaintiff… awoke from his aforesaid surgical procedure, his penis was amputated,” AL News cites the lawsuit as stating. It adds the plaintiff “never gave consent for the complete or partial amputation of (his) penis.” A spokesman for the hospital’s parent company told Reuters that Banks’s allegations were without merit. Karen DeWitt Daren added: “We intend to defend all counts aggressively.”

She was found to be suffering from a rare “vesicovaginal fistula” – an abnormal tract which allows urine to flow into the vagina. Three suspected rapists  were mobbed resulting in the death of one  today by villagers in India who accused them of raping and hanging a seven-year-old girl. According to the Hindustan Times,the girl who got missing last night  was discovered hanging from a tree near the village of Kaliabazar, West Bengal, this morning and angry villagers quickly rounded up a local 'Tantrik' holy man/witch doctor and his two friends.The trio were mercilessly beaten. One later died in hospital and the two others are still being treated. The mob beat up the men and also set fire to a house belonging to Das, who had been seen with the victim yesterday morning. A bomb went off in Kano yesterday, 24 hours after the Kaduna twin explosions in which former Head of State Gen. Muhammadu Buhari and a cleric, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi were targets. Five persons died in the Kano explosion, which took place at a popular motor park in Sabon Gari. Twelve persons were injured. The police said only one person died. The death toll in the Kaduna explosions,  which have been condemned by the United Nations (UN), former military President Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and others, has risen to 110. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) called for a comprehensive investigation into the explosions, which it described as “abhorrent and criminal”. The toll has risen to 110, with more injured victims being rushed to hospital for treatment, a humanitarian aid official said yesterday. Former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida has condemned the twin bomb attacks in Kaduna state on Wednesday, July 23 which left at least 82 people dead. Babangida, in a statement yesterday said: “The latest attack in Kaduna on Wednesday by yet unknown persons has once again thrown up new dimensions in the political life of our dear country. This, and several other attacks have tended to portray our dear country as a terrorist nation that is grappling with insecurity. To state the least, this bloodletting must stop. This bloodletting has to stop. “I have sat back in my quiet retirement home in Minna to ponder what could be the motivation for these several attacks, but I am yet to find any explanation why Nigerians would be killing fellow Nigerians.
