Lagos State Government has said it will prosecute any person, group or organization that stigmatizes a patient who has been treated of Ebola and certified free from the virus Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris, said at a press conference yesterday, that the state Ministry of Justice has been notified to pick up any case of stigmatization, adding that stigmatization can make some persons believed to have contracted the disease not to come forward for treatment. "Stigmatization may further make contacts and suspects to go underground. This may bring about the reversal of the gains we have already made; because such contacts and suspects may not come out and if they don’t come out, they jeopardize the life of those they come in contact with, including their families. I am temperamental but patient but I have always been able to control my temper when dealing with my wife and I rather walk away or go hang out with friends or have a drink and sleep it off, but today it went beyond limit. Scores of insurgents were killed on Tuesday following their invasion of the university town of Mubi in the now troubled Adamawa State. Attempts by the insurgents to hit Vimtim, Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh’s village, were said to have been repelled by Nigerian soldiers. Another report late last night said Boko Haram insurgents may have finally captured the town.  But the military launched a counter offensive in Bazza to retake the town. The Federal Government said Bama, Borno State’s second largest city had been retaken from the insurgents, who reportedly suffered heavy losses. It was claimed that over 50 of their men were killed. Also, it was learnt that troops led by Gen. JS Zaruwa recaptured Bazza, one of the towns seized by Boko Haram insurgents.  A senior military source said troops retook Bazza after a fierce battle in which soldiers killed many Boko Haram militants. As you read this, five guys have been arrested by the Delta State Police Command over the alleged gang-r*ping of Miss Favour Orji, a student of Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro. According to a press statement by the Command’s PRO, DSP Celestina Kalu, the suspects are: Ekperierie Weomazino, Awolowo Abel, Chukwuka Godspower, Wilson Odili and Ojumah Kelvin. Findings indicated that in the afternoon of 30 August, 2014, one of the suspects, Ekperierie Weomazino, who is also a student of the Polytechnic, invited Favour to escort him to Owhelegbo junction in the town to collect his handset.
