Want to attract a man? Wear RED. Read to find out why

Image
Beyond a beautiful face, glowing and top class appearance, ingenious and brilliant disposition, charming smiles that could project an air of friendliness, or showing compassion, which all influence how attractive a woman is, a study has revealed that the colour of what a woman wears influences how attractive she would be to a man. This study says that red clothes also has a ‘marginally significant effect on men’s sexual attractiveness.’ Men are attracted to women who wear red, compared to other colours, hence, beyond an attractive fabric or material, the colour matters. This research provides an explanation for society’s enduring love affair with red. From the red ochre used in ancient rituals, today’s red-light districts, red hearts on Valentine’s Day to the red carpet shows and events here and there, in which case most women who manage to complement their dressing with a touch of red are usually the cynosure of all eyes, the advantages of red seem enormous than commonly known....

UPDATE: MEND Dissociates Self From Threat To Lagos Judges

Image
It said in a statement that the threat was issued by an imposter and self-acclaimed “Commander” of MEND, going by the name of ‘Commander Wilberforce’ who claimed to speak for MEND, and circulated in some sections of the media on Friday. The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has dissociated itself from a threat, issued in its name, of possible attacks on Lagos judges. It said in a statement that the threat was issued by an imposter and self-acclaimed “Commander” of MEND, going by the name of ‘Commander Wilberforce’ who claimed to speak for MEND, and circulated in some sections of the media on Friday. “As far as we know, this person (‘Commander Wilberforce) does not exist and there is no collaboration of any sort with this imaginary individual as claimed in the misleading statement,” MEND said, urging the media the media to disregard it. It noted: “The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has not and will never threaten...

Open Letter To Ndigbo By Joe Igbokwe

Image
When has Igbo become so ethically compromised that they do must defend even thieves from Igboland? Are these Igbo not aware that such fight, like in the case of Stella Oduah not only ridicules the Igbo but belittles them before others? What happens to the sanctimonious resolve of our fore fathers never to get involved in war of blame? At the risk of being tagged once again as anti-Igbo by rabid, commissioned slave traders who see Ndigbo as easy wares to be marketed to their political masters, I write this open letter to my people. At the huge risk of being called names by my brothers and sisters, I boldly write this piece to my people. I have been called names in the past for speaking out and I may be wrong but please forgive me. I write because I know that a story that must be told never forgives silence. I write despite all odds because I know that when a writer is silent he or she is lying. I write because I want things to be done differently, because I know that the ...

Joshua, the man at the synagogue

Image
Self-styled and enigmatic in many people’s estimation, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, is one man few words can hardly describe. Like the large following he enjoys, controversies have not been far from his doorstep too. Wherever he goes, the people follow him. From Nigeria to Liberia, South Africa to Zimbabwe and even to other parts of the world, he is mobbed in grand style whenever he makes an entry. He is no messiah, but the multitudes follow him for preaching the Messiah. And like the early apostles, he has endured persecution in different forms. Born on June 12, 1963 in Arigidi, Ondo State, South-West, Nigeria, Joshua has mysteries following him even as a child. Reports once claimed he spent about 15 months in his mother’s womb instead of nine and narrowly escaped death after a quarry explosion near his family home almost ended his life barely one week after he was delivered. Though, described as “small pastor” while ...

A member of the local vigilance group, Kolobe Abdullahi, told journalists that the residents could not sleep on Thursday night when they got the hint that insurgents intended to attack the town. Abdullahi said, “ People saw them when they were coming and they were seriously dealt with . As I am telling you, more than 100 of the Boko Haram members were killed and several others were injured.  “We destroyed all their utility vehicles, some cars and motorcycles.
