Oil giant  Royal Dutch Shell  has agreed to sell a prolific Nigerian oil block, Oil Mining License 29, and an associated pipeline, for $2.5 billion to a consortium led by  Taleveras Group , an oil trading firm founded and owned by a 39 year-old Nigerian multi-millionaire Igho Sanomi, according to the Wall Street Journal . CAN Blast Chris Okotie Says He Lacks Moral Right To Question Oritsejafor

Image
The Christian Association of Nigeria has challenged the founder of Household of God, Pastor Chris Okotie to manage his home and keep to biblical principles of one man, one wife. The association was reacting to the demand by Okotie that its President, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, should resign over the alleged involvement of his aircraft in the controversial $9.3m smuggled into South Africa by two Nigerians and an Israeli. Okotie, had in a statement by Okotie on his church’s Facebook page, said, “Considering the collateral damage Pastor Ayo’s close relationship with the President has done to the Christian community, it is fit and proper for the Pastor to resign immediately as CAN President to salvage what remains of the battered image of the association. “This is without prejudice to the on-going investigation on the matter. Denials of his culpability by the Federal Government, CAN officials and his own recent defense, does nothing to reduce the moral burden this whole saga p...

On the 23rd of August 1986, something bizarre happened in Bendel State, Nigeria. A prince of the Benin royal family, Kingsley Eweka, was bundled to the Asoro firing range. A Bini prince and an aristocrat by birth and virtue of belonging to one of Africa’s oldest and most revered monarchies, Kingsley was however not accorded any honour that fateful day. As a matter of fact, he had just been condemned and sentenced to death by a court of law for armed robbery and he was manacled like a petty criminal that he was. At a time when the law was really blind, the prince was lined up and in a matter of minutes, he was fired and joined his ancestors. But something very interesting happened shortly before he was killed. Prince Eweka took a good look at his executioners, struggling to turn h...
