The military in Nigeria says it is on the verge of totally wiping out the Boko Haram terrorist group from the nation’s north-east. A spokesman for the Defence Headquarters, Major General Chris Olukolade, gave the assurance on Thursday after touring more of the recovered territories, including Gwoza, said to be the last bastion of the Boko Haram to be recaptured. Major General Olukolade, said that troops are currently making sure that the recovered territories were stabilised and life in those areas returns to normal. “The area left to be captured are very minimal and what is important now is the stabilisation of the territories taken back and the mopping up operations,” Major General Olukolade said.
