Controversies has trailed the death of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade, Olubuse II as the Royal Traditional Council of the town, Wednesday, said the paramount ruler is alive and in good state of health. The RTC, which comprises of all traditional chiefs and title holders in Ile-Ife said Oba Sijuade is not only in sound state of health but added that the royal father was preparing for his son’s wedding holding Sunday, next week, in Lagos. Death threats have poured in after an American dentist killed a famous  and   protected lion in Zimbabwe named Cecil. Tributes to the lion in one of the country's national parks have poured in at a location thousands of miles away, Dr Walter Palmer's office in Bloomington, Minnesota. Protesters dressed as 'dentist hunters' also threw stuffed lions at his house. Palmer has said that he had trusted his local guides to meet legal guidelines on his trip to Africa, during which he shot Cecil the Lion with a crossbow before skinning and beheading him around July 6. The hunter's office and practice website have become a target for animal rights activists disgusted at the dentist's actions, which saw Zimbabwe authorities look for him in connection with poaching on Tuesday. Olaoluwa Ibrahim (15.3.77 - 38 yrs), a Nigerian national of Relf Road SE15 appeared at the Central Criminal Court today, Tuesday 28 July, where he was sentenced for rape and theft. The victim had been on an evening out with friends in central London and was travelling home by bus in the early hours of 24 June 2014. At around 02.30hrs she got off the bus in the Maida Vale area to walk the short distance home. As she did so, she was approached from behind by Ibrahim who tried to engage her in conversation. She attempted to ignore him by walking away; but he grabbed her and pushed her into a driveway where he forced her to the floor and raped her, before stealing her phone and running from the scene. The victim was able to make her way home and subsequently contacted police. A 7-month-old baby boy is in critical condition after he was left in a hot car in Joliet for nearly two hours, police said. The mother told police when she parked her white SUV in the downtown Joliet lot, she had no idea her 7-month-old baby was still in the back seat. She locked the car and went about her business for a couple hours until she got a voicemail from the baby's father. "She had been with the boyfriend and their two other kids earlier, before this. She had dropped them off at another residence and thought that the boyfriend had taken the baby with him in the residence. So when she went to this place, she thought she was by herself and didn't realize it at the time," said Dept. Chief Alan Roechner, Joliet Police Dept. A pensioner has been accused of trying to scam a driver.The unnamed elderly woman was spotted climbing under a car after it stopped at a red light. Mr Chen, the driver, said he heard sounds coming from his car after he stopped at traffic lights in Hubei province, central China, on July 22. According to People's Daily Online,he got out of his vehicle and saw an elderly woman lying under the car.Mr Chen was surprised and baffled about where the woman came from. Police was called and the woman was taken to hospital by ambulance.  Witnesses said the elderly woman climbed under the car herself. However, without CCTV footage, police had to detain the car for further investigation.Following the incident, another driver came forward with footage he had recorded in his car.
