Photos: Police allegedly opens fire at man's car in Abuja in a case of mistaken identity

A man named Tiemo B Pumokumo is alleging that the Nigerian Police sprayed his car with bullets while he on my way from Abuja, and it was a case of mistaken identity as they were targeting robbers. He shared these photos via his Facebook page and wrote: "The Nigerian Police just opened fire on my car on my way from Abuja. Bullets back and front..God pass dem.. Their excuse is they got information armed robbers where coming from my direction and decided to open fire on the first car coming."

Police arrest late Abubakar Audu’s son, family members in Kogi

The Police in Kogi state have arrested the son of late Kogi state governor, Abubakar Audu, Mohammed and about 15 other members of the late governor's family. According to the former governor's younger brother, Mustapha, Mohammed and other family members were arrested today and are being detained at the Lokoja Police Division. He accused the state governor of ordering the arrest of his family members. He alleged that the state governor was using the police to intimidate their family because Mohammed in a statement he released recently, mocked the governor for using the scarce resources in the state to organize an award ceremony to mark the state's 25 years anniversary, instead of using the money to pay salaries. Meanwhile the state governor, Yahaya Bello, has denied having any links with the arrests made. The Federal Government has described attempts by unscrupulous individuals on social media linking the government and Dangote group with a plan to ‘flood’ the country with genetically modified rice (GMO) as extremely uncharitable. In real terms, the Federal Government in 2014 signed a $1billion Memorandum of Understanding, (MoU) for investment in integrated rice project with Dangote Industries Ltd. Further to this agreement, Dangote Industries Limited this year cultivated over 8,000 hectares in Hadejia, Jigawa state, creating over 10,000 direct and indirect jobs for farmers who are the major beneficiaries of the scheme. Strange Gully Erosion Tears Major Road in Abia Apart (Photos)

This major road which is located in Isouchi area in Abia has been torn apart by an intensive gully erosion that has made it a death trap for commuters. Locals have called on the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of the People's Democratic Party to extend his construction projects to the needy area in futility. The major road which in the past boosted commercial activities in the region is currently being abandoned due to the fears of plying it. Residents are presently living in fear over an escalation of the damage by the gully erosion which has been worsening due to lack of attention from responsible government agencies. See more photos:

Worried by his wife’s adulterous acts, Mr Azeez Adeshina, on Wednesday approached the Ikorodu Customary Court in Lagos State to annul his 22-year-old marriage. Adeshina, a 40-year-old, who resides at Ipinyewi, off Aroro Adamo Road in Ikorodu, told the court that his wife, Oluwatoyin, was an “unrepentant adulterer’’. He asked the court to dissolve the union since the woman was no longer staying with him since 2007.
