My idea is for the introduction of Matching Grants to be taken from the revenue accruable to the Federal Government for the purpose of matching IGR of each state in order to encourage states to become self-reliant. I will make certain rivers are dredged to open up the hinterlands of the North. Licenses would be given to state governments to begin immediate exploitation of resources in their jurisdictions. There has not been a year in the last twenty years that I have not set up a new enterprise...

V ice President Yemi Osinbajo on Tuesday commissioned the new headquarters church of the Deeper Life Bible Church in Lagos amidst colourful celebration.  The general superintendent of the church, Pastor William Folorunsho Kumuyi and his wife, Sister Esther received the vice president who was a special guest at the commissioning ceremony of the magnificent Gbagada Church.  The Deeper Life Bible Church is said to be the single largest church in Africa, with branches across the country, Africa and other continents of the world.

J imoh Moshood, spokesman of the Nigeria Police Force, led at least 30 armed policemen to Zankili Medical Center, Mabushi, Abuja, where Dino Melaye, senator representing Kogi west, is being treated. Melaye was admitted into the hospital after he attempted to escape from police custody. There was tension in the hospital as the policemen arrested two persons — a man and a woman — said to be members of staff for unknown offence. The policemen summoned the official of the hospital and demanded to know where Melaye was. It is not yet clear if they have located the place the senator is at the moment. Anyone seen walking around is asked to identify themselves by the fierce-looking policemen or risk getting g picked up.
