WAR ON TERROR: Over 50 Boko Haram Reportedly Killed Near Bama, As Army Reviews Curfew

More than 50 militants were reportedly killed today, while many were injured during an attack on Moraraba village on the outskirts of Bama in Borno State.

Morababa is close to Bama, the scene of previous Boko Haram attacks, and hundreds of Bama residents have flooded into Maiduguri.  Many of them are said to lack any relatives in the city, and are currently in Mairi Day Government Secondary school, located on Bama Road.
In response to several Boko Haram attacks in Borno State, the military authorities in Maiduguri today changed the ongoing curfew hours in the city and its environs, which will now span 6p.m. to 6a.m.
Col. Sani Usman, the spokesman for the 7th Division said the new hours would take effect today, and stressed that anyone who flouts the new directive will be arrested and prosecuted.
Boko Haram militants have stepped up their attacks in Borno State recently, and have captured a number of towns in the last few weeks.
The militant islamist sect is plotting to take over Maiduguri the state capital.
