Buhari jets out to London
The Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari today (Thursday) left Abuja on a short working visit to the United Kingdom, his campaign organisation has said.
In the course of this visit, Mr. Buhari will hold meetings with key members of the British political establishment and interact with some global institutions with interest in the affairs of Nigeria.
The APC presidential candidate had on January 23 cancelled a similar visit to the United States, which would have seen him speak at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies, CSIS, which invited him.
The organisation’s Director of African Programme, Jennifer Cooke, told PREMIUM TIMES at the time that Mr. Buhari cancelled the trip because of a change in his schedule.
Mr. Buhari and his counterpart in the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, President Goodluck Jonathan, both frontrunners in the coming presidential election, were invited by the organisation to speak on Nigeria’s future.
