Buhari Unexpectedly Visits Home-Town Of Chibok Girls
The presidential candidate from the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) unexpectedly visited the home-town of the Chibok girls, who were kidnapped last April by Boko Haram sect.
General Buhari addressed a huge crowd of supporters in Borno State capital, Maiduguri as a part of his nationwide campaign.
Army chiefs, who organised security for the rally, were surprised when the APC party candidate said he wanted to visit Chibok and denied to provide him security cover until they received clearance from their superiors in Abuja.
Meanwhile, despite their protests, General Buhari asserted on visiting Chibok and left for the town despite their of the denial of men of the Joint Task Force (JTF) to go along with him.
But at last the thousands of Civilian JTF members had agreed to provide security for him and the Borno State governor Kashim Shettima.
The people and parents of the kidnapped girls also came out to welcome Mr. Buhari and his entourage and escorted him around the town.
After he addressed the people and parents of the girls, a pastor offered prayers for the safe return of the entourage back home and for General Buhari’s victory at the polls.
