Brown Ideye and Anthony Ujah have been recalled to the Nigerian Super Eagles, for two international friendly matches

Brown Ideye and Anthony Ujah have been recalled to the Nigerian men's national team, the Super Eagles, for two international friendly matches after recent snubs by the selectors.

The two strikers were part of the Nigerian squad to the 2013 Fifa Confederations Cup in Brazil but were excluded from the team to the 2014 World Cup in which the Super Eagles were eliminated in the second round by France.

Ideye last featured in an international for Nigeria in the 2-2 draw against Italy in November 2013 when he came on as substitute for Victor Moses.

But his recent scoring form which has seen him net seven goals in all competitions for West Brom has earned him a recall.

Ujah, on the other hand, has scored nine goals for FC Cologne in the Bundesliga and helped with two assists, and his present form has swayed the national selectors to call him after his last appearance against Tahiti at the Fifa Confederations Cup almost two years ago.

Watford striker Odion Ighalo has also earned a call up after scoring 17 goals for his English Championship club this term while KAA Gent teenage striker, Moses Simon is also included.

As usual captain Vincent Enyeama heads the 27-man squad and his looks set to become only the second Nigerian men's footballer to earn 100 caps when they face Bolivia on March 26.

Godfrey Oboabona, Kenneth Omeruo, Ogenyi Onazi and Ahmed Musa are the other top players in the team while Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel is ruled out due to injury.

Villareal striker, Ikechukwu Uche, is another major player missing from the squad announced by the Nigeria Football Federation [NFF] on Tuesday.

Ten players from the Nigeria Professional Football League [NPFL] also make the cut with last season's top scorer Mfon Udoh leading the list that also has Azubuike Egwuekwe, Theophilus Afelokhai, Chidiebere Eze, Chima Akas, Nelson Ogbonnaya, Joseph Nathaniel, Kingsley Sokari, Ubong Ekpai and Stanley Dimgba.

Missing from the list of NPFL players are Chigozie Agbim and Gbolahan Salami, who have previously been regulars in the core of the team.

Nigeria's Super Eagles play hosts to Bolivia at the Nest of Champions in Uyo on March 26 and three days later, face South Africa's Bafana Bafana in Nelspruit.

The players are expected to report at the Le Meridien Hotel, Uyo on Monday, 23rd March for the March 26 clash with Bolivia, with the squad heading to South Africa on Friday, March 27 for the battle with the Bafana Bafana in Nelspruit on Sunday, March 29.
