‘Rescued girls not Chibok girls’

Nigeria’s army has stated that the rescued 200 girls and 93 women from Boko Haram camps during a military operation are not the school girls abducted from Chibok community more than a year ago by the Boko Haram insurgents.An army spokesman told AP news agency on Tuesday that the 293 females were not the girls abducted from Chibok a year ago.


Boko Haram kidnapped nearly 300 schoolgirls from the northeastern town of Chibok, in Borno state, sparking an international outcry.

Army spokesman: 293 females rescued in northeastern Nigeria are not girls abducted from Chibok.
