Revealed: Tinubu orders Ekiti 19 APC lawmakers to let Fayose finish his tenure
The leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is believed to have directed members of the Ekiti State House of Assembly to apply the brakes in their desire to get Governor Ayo Fayose impeached ahead of the May 29, handover date.
A member of the APC national caucus close to Tinubu told our correspondent that the APC strongman and former governor of Lagos State specifically told some Ekiti APC legislators to allow Governor Fayose to complete his second tenure and should sheathe their swords.
It was gathered that Tinubu’s new posture over the Ekiti political drama might not be unconnected with his present dislike for former Governor Kayode Fayemi, who he does not want to be a beneficiary of the impeachment process against Governor Fayose.
In this respect, the former Lagos State Governor has refused to finance the court case on behalf of the 19 APC legislators who have not been paid their salaries and allowances since October 2014.
The Action Group Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State has also fostered divisions within party leaders, with members complaining bitterly that no member received funding from the APC national leader for the 2015 elections.
