Obiano Commissions Nkpor To Amawbia Road In Anambra
The 28.2 kilometer stretch of road from Nkpor to Amawbia, built at over nine billion naira has been commissioned in Anambra state.
Governor Willie Obiano, during the commissioning of the road at the Nkpor round about axis, commended the contractor for a quality job done.
The road which he says cuts across over seven communities which includes: Ogidi, Ogbunike, Umudioka, Umunnachi, Ukpo, Abagana, Enugwu-ukwu, Nawfia, among others, will bring huge relief for the people as traffic congestion which Nkpor Junction is known for will be a thing of the past.
The construction began in 2008, under Former Governor, Peter Obi’s administration which saw to the completion of about 13 kilometer of the road.
The governor said the commissioning was in line with his campaign promises of completing, commissioning and commencing new projects in the state.
Addressing the people, Governor Willie Obiano urged the surrounding communities and road users to take ownership of the road and avoid harmful practices that will reduce the life span of the road.
The state Commissioner for Works, Lawrence Chinwuba, explained that the road cost the state over nine billion naira and it has the full compliments of a standard road infrastructure with the lighting project to be completed soon.
The governor also commissioned the two point one kilometer PHCN road at Awada Obosi.
Governor Obiano also commissioned the 1.2 kilometer PHCN road at Awada Layout, Obosi, with its appurtenances which cost 490 million naira.
