APC Governors Accept Saraki, Dogara’s Emergence

APC Governors forum said they have finally accepted Senator Bukola Saraki and Hon. Yakubu Dogara, as Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives, respectively.

Speaking in Abuja on Friday Night After a meeting of the Forum, Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum and Imo State Governor, Mr. Rochas Okorocha, said the governors resolve to intervene in the crisis amongst members of the party at the National Assembly was in the interest of peace

After the meeting which had Bukola Saraki, senate president; Ahmed Lawan; Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, and Femi Gbajabiamila, in attendance at the Imo Governors’ Lodge, Okorocha said the peace process will still continue.

“Peace has returned to our party. We want peace at the National Assembly. We will work things out. Senator Saraki, Senator Lawan, Hon. Dogara and Hon. Gbajabiamila have all agreed to work together for the progress of the party. We will give you details of the arrangement next week,

“You will not see more disagreement as against the past; peace has come to our party,

“By next week, we will give you people the details of the outcome of this peace meeting, but so far so good all things being equal.

Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole who was also at the meeting said the foundation for peace has already been established.

“If you have some little disagreement among friends, the only way to solve them is to talk.

“When people refuse to see eye to eye or refuse to sit together then, you can’t even discuss and the fact that they all turned up and we listened to all the sides and we have couple of suggestions, we have agreed to continue with the conversation and we are meeting again tomorrow night here again, so I believe we are making some progress. Not that everything is signed sealed and delivered; that is why Okorocha said we are continuing the process.” He said.
