The main opposition party of Nigeria, People's Democratic Party earlier this week called on President Muhammadu Buhari to resign, following the economic woes of the country in the last 15 months which has seen the naira fall to an all time low at the interbank and parallel markets, increased inflation at 17.1%, 4.8 million loss of jobs, folding up of several multinational and local companies amongst other problems.
This prompted one of Nigeria's foremost online new platforms, Premium Times to organise a quick online opinion poll which saw Buhari garner massive support. 34% of the participants recommended the President for resignation while 66% opted for the apportioning of blames to the PDP over years of alleged misrule and mismanagement of resources.
The poll was still open for voting and contributions as at the time of filling this report. As usual, the reactions of Nigerians had a comical feel which is a trend as far as social media is concerned in Africa's most populous nation.
