The Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Sunday assured Nigerians that the six students kidnapped from the Lagos State Model College, Igbonla-Epe, on May 25 will soon regain their freedom.

According to some messages posted on Twitter by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Laolu Akande, the Acting President spoke in an interview with journalists in Lagos.

He was said to have described the experience of the kidnapped students’ parents as traumatic.

“Our hearts are with the parents. I know how difficult it is for them at this time. The governor has done a lot of work and has been speaking with me.

“All security apparatus of government are focussed to ensure those children are brought back safe. It has to be done with due care.

“I have also been speaking with some neighbouring state governors who have also been helpful. So we look forward to the children’s safe return,” Akande quoted Osinbajo as saying.
