THE VITAL VOICES GLOBAL MENTORING WALK 2018

The Global Mentoring Walk convenes established women leaders and emerging women leaders to walk together in their community. As they walk, they discuss their personal and professional challenges and successes to establish a mentoring relationship, in which the established leader guides, advises and supports an emerging leader. Held on the same day in countries across the world, the Mentoring Walk unifies the Vital Voices Global Leadership Network. This year’s walk will be held Saturday, March 10th, 2018 to celebrate International Women’s Day. 


The Global Mentoring Walk is an opportunity to highlight the importance of women’s leadership, and to accelerate the impact of women leaders through mentoring. Mentoring Walk events foster and promote mentoring relationships between emerging and established women leaders. Women who are mentored are more likely to become mentors themselves, paying forward the investment made in them by empowering even more women to be successful leaders. 

As a result, the Global Mentoring Walk: 

  •  Provides emerging women leaders with the support and guidance they need to fulfill their goals. 
  • Instills the values of mentoring in rising leaders, who can then give back to future generations. 
  •  Provides an environment for collaboration and networking among emerging and established women leaders within a community. 

Each year, Global Mentoring Walk Flag Bearers walk together to demonstrate the importance of women’s leadership. Flag Bearers and their teams dedicate time, energy and resources to lead walks that positively impact their communities and raise visibility for women’s leadership worldwide. 

Idea Builders Initiative, non-government organization dedicated to advancing the status of women and girls in Nigeria has already positively impacted the lives of thousands of women and girls since we began in 2003.This year we are collaborating with Lonadek Nigeria Limited for the 2018 Global Mentoring walk scheduled for Saturday March 10, 2018 at CSEH 12 Jibowu Street, Jibowu- Yaba by 9am prompt.

Mushin Violence: Serial Killer, Others Arrested By The Police

Toba and Muda The Lagos State Police Command has arrested alleged serial killer, Adigun Oriyomi, aka Muda, after five months of being on the run. The command also arrested two others, including the alleged gang leader in the Fadeyi area of the state, Toba Ajiboye. PUNCH Metro had reported that Muda was arrested last year for murder and was charged to court and remanded, but was later released. After his release, Muda was said to have gone after those who wrote statements against him at the police station and was said to be involved in about four more murders, including that of a pregnant woman and her three-year-old child in the Akala area of Mushin.
