Police arrest Senator Ovie Omo Agege over mace theft at the National Assembly

Senator Omo-Agege who led hoodlums to cart away the mace has according to reports, been arrested by the Police.

Omo-Agege, suspended last week for 90 days by the Senate was arrested by the FCT Police at 1:50 p.m while he crept into the chambers to join in the plenary.

The Senate had gotten another mace as they continued plenary after a turbulent few hours of dramatic proceedings. In a statement released by the Spokesman of the Senate, Sabi Abdullahi, the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and DG, SSS, Lawan Daura were ordered to recover the mace in the next 24 hours.

Toba and Muda The Lagos State Police Command has arrested alleged serial killer, Adigun Oriyomi, aka Muda, after five months of being on the run. The command also arrested two others, including the alleged gang leader in the Fadeyi area of the state, Toba Ajiboye. PUNCH Metro had reported that Muda was arrested last year for murder and was charged to court and remanded, but was later released. After his release, Muda was said to have gone after those who wrote statements against him at the police station and was said to be involved in about four more murders, including that of a pregnant woman and her three-year-old child in the Akala area of Mushin.
